Anyone else bored?

Post » Sun Mar 16, 2014 6:43 am

I found many of the quests that bugged out easily (mainly due to phasing) were no longer bugging quite as often. Though there were a couple, but far fewer. And even those were fixable by logging (yeah I know, still not a solution). But the problem HAS been much improved. I'm betting it gets resolved by launch.

I'm getting bored too but I suppose it's because I know that after this my character will be deleted and I'll have to do this all again when the game is released. I don't want to spoil the new content in this beta session since I'll have to do it again.

Yep, pushed to get one of my characters to level 10 to try out the PvP zone in the hope that maybe it would be something good enough to save the game for me. But it isn't. The whole game feels just like previous MMORPGs I've played with except elderscrolls paintjob and I was already bored of them (but at least some of them are set in worlds designed for them). There's just nothing new or innovative here and even the stuff they copied is done in slightly odd ways that don't seem to work as well as they do in other games. Nothing quite fits. The PvE zones feel so crowded with mobs and stuff its just absurd and is so unlike the single player gaming experience it just destroys any suspension of disbelief I build up, then the PvP zone is the complete opposite being mostly just empty space. The quests are the same old fare of kill 10 this, activate 10 that rubbish but rather than accept this and try and streamline them instead they are all given over the top background and voiced exposition.

It seems like they guy(s) they brought in to make it already knew the game he wanted to make and then tried to fit Elderscrolls around it, badly. Rather than starting with the Elderscrolls and trying to figure out how best to make it work in an online game. Another big wasted opportunity.

Oh and no chat bubbles is nigh on criminal omission for any roleplay value the game might of had.

My opinion of it has been going steadily down the more of it I see. All in all I have to say very poor show, very poor indeed.

I agree 100%

No chat bubbles deserves a Darwin award for the game planners.

Removing the name plates and then removing the option of toggling them falls pretty close too.

You may have mentioned this already in like 300 other posts. We get it, you want another WoW clone because they've been so successful over the last few years.

I don't know where you are coming from, but in my world, adding a chat bubble system doesn't equate to cloning WoW.

Hey, ESO has factions fighting each other with swords.... IT'S A WOW CLONE!!!! /sarcasm

Sorry I had to increase the font, bolded it and changed the color to red in my edit of this post, in the event you didn't understand what I meant.

Not just that one comment but in the 50+ others you've made in the last 4 days, you've made your intentions abundantly clear.

I don't think anyone is asking for a WoW clone, sadly the developers or the money men don't seem to understand this because to one degree or another that's what we keep getting given.

But chat bubbles is not a WoW feature its a basic social feature for a game where a lot of people are going to be communicating in text and seeing who is saying what is a lot easier when its on screen above a character, especially if your'e trying roleplay. Failing to put it in is just astonishing given how easy it is to do.

Odd you should say that about chat bubbles. Usually, MMOs that push chat bubbles are inundated with requests to remove them. Chat bubbles are a nuisance to the majority of players. When game development begins, features requested by the minority get bumped to the bottom.

I am just worried about certain mechanics of the game, and I wanted to have an open discussion about it.

Why are you so apprehensive about that, am I not allowed to discuss game mechanics here?

Its not rocket science, chat bubbles as an option in the menu, off by default if you think the majority don't want it. The programming effort to do this is minimal.

Then have them toggleable in the Settings menu...

Sure, it can (and should) be optional. But when the majority of players would rather turn it off, then even adding the feature at all takes a back seat in favor of other development. I'm sure there are a TON of features the developers would like to implement. However, with ANY game development, at some point there has to be a "feature lock" for initial deployment.

Seriously. It's something that could be easily added after launch if enough people request it.

Given that Blizzard has done many studies on this and found that the chat bubbles should stay on, where are you getting your "majority of players" information from?

since first beta ;) but can't return my pre-order so I feel it comes down to loss before launch. So don't really care about the characters etc. If I can't sell my order @ lowered price will just play it and cancel. Have my eye on some other game entertainment in year to come.

Good luck to rest!

Upset with the game because playing as a group or with others is such a huge hassle.

All fun is taken away when it takes troubleshooting just to play together and tackle a quest.

You couldn't pay me to play an MMO that makes group play a pain in the ass.

Just seems so wrong. Why make the quests so single player ish in an MMO?

Who's to say that it's not planned down the line? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But it's a feature that would probably take a back seat to other development. Championing that cause on this forum isn't going to help much.

Well, then what is this forum for?

After reading the postings rules, I didn't see any part of it stating that we should keep our non offensive opinions to ourselves...

Who's to say that its planned down the line? Maybe it isn't....

If you're going to cite Blizzard as a reliable source of credibility in customer/gamer satisfaction, then you just defeated your own cause.

Not bored at all.

But it's just a beta, I'm not in the mood to put hours on a character that will get deleted in less than 2 weeks.

I've tested everything I needed and played alot of PvP, it's time for the real deal.

I'm bored to tears sadly. I had a blast during the last beta, but the solo mmo treadmill was old before ESO.

Are you telling me that Blizzard has many dissatisfied customers and that they have lost most of their customer base?

Also you never told me where you are getting your information from?

Easily my biggest issue. Paul Sage's words were encouraging when talking about things they're focussing on:

"We know that group members can become separated in some of our content, and we are looking at ways to make sure you stay together with your group members. We are currently testing some solutions."
