I dare you.

...and, yes, I've seen the basemant. :P

Aw man my current character is too law-abiding to break in there.

But I did go in there once, on the quest about stealing Frost, I took the more law-abiding option and revealed the plot to Maven. I couldn't find her outside in Riften and the house wasn't locked so I went in. Pretty sure I went all over looking for her but maybe I missed the basemant... or I was just too focused on finding Maven to snoop properly.

And I'll probably never be back in there again... maybe I can do it just to see what's there and then reload a save and it'll be like it never happened.

To break the law against a law breaker is not breaking the law.

Captain Rationalization to the rescue!

TBH I only did the Frost quest because I wanted the damn horse, got spoiled by Shadowmere the last time around and I'm not willing to stain my soul with the DB stuff again just to get him/her back. Frost seemed like a reasonable alternative for my current PC, Maven gave me permission to take him, and the mercenaries I killed at the lodge attacked me first.

OTOH I did use the key that Sibbi gave me to clear out their strongbox. But, you know, he GAVE me the key. Plus I RPed that she was secretly helping fund Imperial efforts to take back Riften, and the stuff in the strongbox was earmarked for that. So... it's all good.

Maven isn't someone that you want to trifle over :) I love that woman, I swear. If I were to meet Elisa Gabrielli in real life I would ask her to merry me in a heart beat.

Well, if that's all it is, it's no biggie. I already knew about that. But considering statements above regarding a statue of Dibella...

Oh, so now you're not gonna' be so law-abiding?

I have to have one for each house. :P I don't think you can obtain enough Dibella Statues if you want one for each house without stealing though. :o The one at Deekus' camp near Hela's Folly respawns if you don't kill him - IDK if it respawns if you kill him - but taking it is stealing.

Lol, no, it's not that I want Dibella statues, I was just thinking that maybe Maven had a secret "Haelga"-type setup going on in the family basemant and I missed it. :P

I'll have you know that the only things I've stolen with this character were a couple of unique items and books I was missing, taken from Calixto's museum, and some gear from an Imperial camp that I cleaned out after we'd won the war.

Considering that the first "victim" of my larceny was a serial killer who I tracked and killed in the middle of committing one of his heinous crimes, and the second lot were sworn enemies who I killed on the orders of my Jarl, commander in chief, future king, secret lover and husband-to-be, I THINK I WAS ENTITLED. :P

No, but it's criminal trespass. However:
criminal act/criminal target=0

(criminal)criminal act/criminal target=0(criminal)

(criminal)criminal act/criminal target=0

(target)criminal act/target=0(target)

(target)criminal act/target=0

criminal act=0 :D

Try it. Go into the basemant.

I dare you.

I don't get it. Ingun alseep in a room with some alchemical ingredients. An empty room with a bed and a wardrobe. A room with the black sacrament ritual set-up and a note from Maven to Astrid. Is this the terrifying "I dare you" part? Not impressed. A pre-pubascent child in Windhelm (Aventus) sets up the same ritual. I was expecting something spectacular.

I have. I steal everything possible. I've seen the basemant.

What are you stealing? Ingredients? You had me thinking there was a treasure trove or something. We are talking about the Black-Briar Manor in Riften, right?

Oh, yeah. It's where I got one of my Dibella Statues.

...and, yes, I've seen the basemant.

Dude, I didn't even see a Dibella statue. Was it a random container spawn or something? I must be in the wrong basemant.

Try the Black-Briar Lodge, outside of town to the North-East.
