Anyone else can't play/buy Skyrim for some reason?

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:36 am

My 360 is RRODed right now, so I can't play either. I went over to a friend's place yesterday and we took turns playing for a few hours though.

I also can't play it at the minute, probably not going to have any real time to do so either until June or July next year, such a shame :(

By that time at least I'll have upgraded my computer enough to play it smoothly!

I actually just read on the Skyrim forums that computers like mine which are barely over the minimum system requirements are actually running Skyrim just fine.

I wonder if I should chance just getting myself a PC copy in that case. I'm really anxious to play a copy of my own rather than mooching off friends' games.

I've heard that too, but personally, I'm getting it on 360, and play that to death, then get it on PC. That way, I have to play the game entirely unaltered.

I was originally going to do that too, but my 360 RRODing and Microsoft wanting to rip me off to fix it kind of changes things.

It's easier, and safer, to hunt small animals and make leather armor from their hides :hehe:

I advise you do not read ANY threads or posts regarding to the happenings in the PC version, and all that.

Joined the server because of fallout not elder scrolls. I have no interest.

I can't really justify the $60-$80 (depending where/how I buy it) at the moment. I've got to buy a new motorbike :(.

On the plus side, at least it apparently works okay with Wine. Needs a couple of things installed, but runs fine after that.

I could be playing it right now, I even have a copy of it, but I'm just gonna sacrifice it to some fireworks on New Years so it's still shrink wrapped and everything :hehe:

There is no "can't" for me, just a "won't." I'm waiting for patches, mods, and Christmas, whichever comes first. But if nothing is done to fix the utter cluster[censored] that is the PC interface and navigation, then I'm strongly considering not getting it at all.

I have the CE in my bedroom and a box of computer parts in my desk. My current rig can't run it. My new rig is missing a case and video card.

My graphics card went out on 11/10/11 :brokencomputer:

At least I think it is my card.

I have it pre-ordered. But here's the catch, it is pre-ordered on Amazon. The problem with that? I won't get it until next Thursday.

Not really complaining though, at least I will be able to play it soon. Unless I have a problem with my 360, which will result in my suicide.

How is it for the PC? I was looking through the Skyrim forums and people were saying that the PC version felt "unfinished".

Not to me. Keep in mind though that I usually don't do a "heavy magic user" type of character, so any problems with magic I won't be noticing for a long time. I'm still at the "walking around going *wow*" stage of things, to the extent of nearly getting killed by wolves because I was busy looking at the stars and the aurora. Yes, I know its really stupid to be walking around the landscape looking up. But its too much of a temptation. I found my first sabre cat much the same way, except that did get my character killed. I'm having a fantastic time playing, actually.

Week long waiting happens here when pre-ordered from Gamestop >>. I've had more success not preordering ><.

Well my best friend and I have been obsessed with Morrowind since we were in 3rd grade, then Oblivion in 7th, and so forth. So we have promised eachother that we will not watch videos, watch our friends play, or learn any new info about Skyrim until the day we get it which will be Christmas. It's just a weird thing we do. Brotherly love

If I ever get my computer built I'll maybe give Skyrim a shot. However, the fact that it uses Steam and the fact that it seems to be a completely unoptimized PC port of a console game is making me think twice.

I don't own a 360 or PS3 and don't plan to any time soon.
