They said it was Boston in Fallout 3 right? Why would anyone expect Canada?
Yes, Fallout 3 directly mentioned the Commonwealth.
Wouldn't it have been weirder for a bunch of Canadians to build a secret underground facility beneath Boston?
Oh, wait, I get it: radiation-mutated beavers. That actually does make sense.
although a person not familiar with Fallout lore could easily mistake "The Commonwealth" as Canada.. given in reality Canada is a member of the British Commonwealth, which our own government (as well as the governments of most of its other members) just refers to as "The Commonwealth"
As a Canadian I can say it has a Canadian feel to it. More so than any other part of the game.
That was what I first thought when I heard of it, then I found out the US in Fallout has 13 Commonwealths which just made me confused lol
Although I do think with the current Python easter egg track record, a trip to Canada will have an interesting bar
You had me at strippers. Throw in some blackjack and we will start something!
Four States in the United States are called Commonwealths in real life and would have been in Fallout as well before the creation of the 13 Commonwealths. Massachusetts is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The other three states also called Commonwealths are Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvani.
As for the topic. No I am not disappointed. But I do hope someday we get to see Canada, at least in a DLC or something.
Massachusetts is properly called the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts in real life. It's the actual real name of the State.
The Institute is The Massachusetts Institute Of Technology, or MIT, a bleeding edge leader in high technology and robotics.
In the Fallout Universe the Massachusetts part has been dropped, leaving just the Commonwealth and the Institute.
I assume that we will eventually travel to the Land Of Radbeavers and Super Moosetants, Tim Hortonland.
I kind of thought 'Commonwealth' referred to the rebirth of the old Brit empire.
Maybe it's not so crazy.
The migratory patterns of Canadians would put them in Boston around late October. But where's the poutine?
I think it would be better if Canada was a location for a new Fallout. Maybe 5 or 6. It would be a bit jarring to be in Boston and then jump over to 'Ronto' for just a DLC.
Personally I want to see Fallout head South rather than North next time.
But we've known 'The Institute' was actually The Massachusetts Institute of Technology since it was first mentioned in Fallout 3.
Fallout 5,
Pirates of the Caribean Edition.
-Travel between the Florida Keys, Cuba, Bahama's, and Coasterico Mexico
-Sounds like an awesome "research opportunity" hint hint
Fo5
Glades of Grass
-Can put in Miami
-Have swamp buggy races
-Mutant gators
Meh. Bethesda games have enough lipsync problems as it is without having to take flapping heads into account.
those should already be in the game! no scorpions in this [censored]!!
Since Canada is part of the United States in Fallout, it would be just the same.
Speaking of the Institute, where the hell did
Do all male lead scientists in Fallout like James or Quinlan need to have like British accents or something?
Something not being Canadian has literally never been a source of disappointment for me in my entire life.
I don't really think it is. Just sounds like upper-class American. Maybe Mid-Atlantic.
Fallout 4 in Canada would be boring. We don't really care for guns up here, so all we would be using is hockey sticks.
Canadian ehh ?
Give me some Sunnydale trailer park DLC.
