Anyone else feel like the game makes you a sixual predator?

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 3:27 am

Damn. I guess I'll have to take a companion this time through. Wait, I'm old, oh well, Curie is fascinating. I took her then saw the dog outside looking down, so I sent her to Red Rock and took the dog back. Now we all hang there and listen to Curie be cute and somewhat enigmatic. ;)

MacCready is a family oriented guy though, nothing about him scream one night stand considering he still misses his wife and he becomes a mercenary and does terrible things just to cure his son.

LoL. Sleeping around makes you as much a predator as having an opinion makes you an expert.

Was your character drunk? That sounds like one of the generic drunk greetings, hilarious that it showed up for a kid.

I haven't even managed to seduce a single npc yet. I have Piper as a companion and still no joy

Wow op i never thought about this before.

You know I bet as I stand at the foot of a settlers bed, watching them sleep for hours. A roll of duck tape in one hand a packet of yum yum deviled eggs the other.

It could indeed be taken the wrong way.

Makes you? No. The game simply provides you the freedom to do as you wish. You only need be a polyamorist if you want to be one. The NPCs being "ok" with it is simply Bethesda's lazy companion system.

Life is short and harsh in the wasteland, so take what you can get? I'm like a holy ascetic however and only slept with Cait and MacCready.

Not at all. The romance I have with Preston is as thin as tobacco paper. I don't really even think there's six in the game. You get a fully clothed "lover's embrace" which is essentially a hug. *shrug*

You made me think of Me, Myself & Irene; the scene with Hank and the "supplies" in the car...

How does being a poly make you a sixual predator?

I actually take offense to this.

Why is it lazy to have that option though? Some people want it, and now its there. True they could have created some jealousy dialogue, but still more player choice is never a bad thing.

The modders could have removed the relationship check, but I want jealousy dialogues because it's voiced and add characterization to the characters. Actually, if they want to go that route, having characters like Cait and Hancock to be okay with open relationship but people like Piper and Danse wouldn't be into those kind of relationship. Personally, I find jealousy to be healthy because it shows they care at least. Plus, it allows more immersion to see characters react. At the moment, even the characters themselves have problem with it because they all hate it if you flirt while in a romance with them, Beth just didn't bother to code such scenes. Maybe a line or two here and there when you decide to flirt would have been nice.

After romancing one companion one time, I have to say... why bother? Hardly what I would call a fulfilling experience, even as lame-arsed gaming romances go. I find them as exciting as opening a carton of milk. Well, honestly, opening the milk is a fair bit more interesting...

I like videogame romances, i know most of them are only so so written, but its another element that adds to most RPG's. I am glad that Bethesda is trying atleast.

There is a big difference between having the ability to do something and actually doing it.

All the romances are paper thin. You're like "hey preston we're best bros, lets bang"

"What? You're gay? Im gay? I guess so...".

Next thing you know he's on his knees in the mud wearing a dog collar and elbow deep in carrots. Btw lovers embrace insinuates six pretty heavily in the companion dialog.

It's not lazy to have the option of being polyamorous in the game. As someone who is in a poly relationship I'm quite happy to have the option in the game, in fact.

But it is lazy in the sense that poly is an option with all the romance-capable companions, just as it is lazy that all the romance-capable companions are "player-sixual". It devalues them as characters because they basically go along with whatever the player does romantically without a fuss or consequences (and for anyone who cares, a little text box saying "X didn't like that" isn't a consequence :P).

Predator? No.

Kinkmeister General and all around Good-Time Girl? Absolutely.

I swear my Melinda will sleep with anyone (probably Strong as well if he was available). I simply can't resist the "flirt" option. :)

Hussy!

As for Strong... Well, super mutants, even the ones as friendly as Strong wouldn't understand what you were attempting. Don't get me wrong, they would enjoy it because they would think you were trying to initiate combat and they all enjoy a good fight with lots of blood and killing.

I'd have to say no. It makes me feel like a father who can't get rid of his goddam kid. Over and over and over again.
