Is anyone else feeling any gunplay difference?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:50 am

With all these balance tweaks I was expecting the game to feel different, maybe even getting close to skilled gameplay. I was fooling myself, quite honestly, it looks 100% the same, aside the obvious the only thing I've felt different is the JAW flight speed.

All of the recoil modifications seem non-existant. Am I the only one feeling this? Because it doesn't really make them any different to handle, it's still your noob friendly run n' spray, and if that's the way Crytek wants the game to be then it might as well be still because this patch didn't change anything regarding that. And here I was hoping for something remotely challenging, it's still the same COD spray fest... yawn.

Anyway. Does anyone feel the guns behaviour any different?

I don't think the balance changes were included in this patch.

Well, head shot damage multiplier is definitely noticeable. Could just be me though, but I agree, recoil is still non-existent. The Scar, Feline, and Scarab all feel exactly the same, as does the m60.

Pretty sure they were, at least I noticed some difference in the JAW otherwise that's some pretty heavy placebo. But what makes you think that, Adam stated they would be included in this week's patch so they should be implemented now.

Thanks f3llyn.

It did appear to be somewhat easier to get kills with the lol-tag, though. So who knows, it's odd that they weren't in the patch notes in the official thread.

I wouldn't expect the changes to be that much noticeable for the PC players, since they don't got aim assist like the consol players and are uses to adapt much easier to slight changes like those that Crytek did introduce to the gunplay. If at all they will be noticed by the module changes and not the gunplay itself, especially the recoil and spread thatare for sure not comparable to other games due to the physical bullet type of C2. There really is no need to worry about recoil or spread while the MPs most important issue is lag and high ping players.

The guns are still exactly the same, SCAR SCARAB and Feline still have ZERO recoil, takes absolutely nothing more than aiming down the sights to kill somebody. There may have actually been some re-balancing, but it was so insignificant that I don't notice any bit of it.

This game needs some REAL re-balancing, the game is full of spray noobs because the guns are lasers. The gameplay gets extremely repetitive when there are only 3 or 4 guns that are useful and they are all alike.

Hell, if this is the best Crysis 2 is ever going to offer, then for me it's the end of the line with Crysis 2, I can have more fun with the REAL Call of Duty than this clone.
