Is anyone else gonna wait untill the game comes out before they decide on
empire or stormcloaks?

For some of my playthroughs, yes. Others? No.

I have largely decided my character, as he is a carry-on from Oblivion.

I'm heavily leaning towards the Stormcloaks and so voted for them, but I will listen to both sides before making any decisions.

I know nothing about those factions, so I can't say which one I'll join. I guess whoever has the cooler uniforms?

I was originally planning out a character, but i've decided that I'm going to choose a race by my feeling about them when i'm in char creation, same with skills im just going to start using the armour/weapons/spells that I like. so my character develops, and i'm not forcing my character into an already set mould when I haven't even played the game yet.

I think this is one of the beauties about the skill system they are implementing in skyrim and i plan on taking advantage of it

Yeah, I actually have three characters pretty much planned out mechanically, but have no idea what they're going to do through the story.

I actually did kinda the same thing in New Vegas, except I did plan my faction allegiances ahead of time. Those allegiances didn't actually last when the rubber hit the road though :) So this time I'm not planning any in-game decisions. More fun to just see what happens!

Yeah I'm not sure if I'm going to propose to my girlfriend until after the game comes out. I'm going to see if she likes watching me play and that'll make my decision.

Male Imperial, melee combat-oriented, with absolutely no dual wielding whatsoever and plenty of shield usage, and of course I will fight for the Empire for reasons which I have explicitly stated multiple times.

For other playthroughs, I'll probably do stormcloaks a couple times, and I'll definetely go other races (not likely to change gender though). In general, my sympathies lie with male, pro-empire characters :)

I have my character already. It's one of my Oblivion characters...

Pretty much, yes. As it sits now, I've watched one gameplay video and have sworn them off since. I really wanna play Skyrim, don't get me wrong, but experiencing on its own without seeing half of it before it's released will be so much better. It's what I did for Oblivion and Morrowind, after all. ^_^

Broadly speaking, yes, my character is planned out. Now his character development will be a interesting. I found that my CoC didn't get a lot aside from becoming a Daedra lord.

No, I'm gonna go with my own gut as always.

All I know is that my character is likely going to be an Imperial, as my character resembles me. I don't know what weapons I will use - I will use which I find most fun. In Oblivion this was melee combat, but Skyrim magic seems like great fun, so maybe a mix.
When it comes to factions and evil/good I always follow my own feeling. If I feel the Rebels support a just cause I will surely join them, if not I wont.

My character is always good however, no crimes at all, since I feel too guilty about it just as I likely would in real life.

I kind of hate the imperials. They're so annoyingly average. I like my characters to be weird. Thats why im gonna be a dunmer assassin and a stormcloak.
