Anyone else hate cats?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 1:35 pm

Maybe it's just my bad luck with them.

First Khajiit companion was that caravan guard and I set him up with with my best gear (ebony mail), and he disappears with it. Assuming he ran off and sold it.

Then there isn J'zargo from the mages guild. I do him a favor testing out a scroll and not only does it hurt me, it kills Aska who was next to me and injures Iona who then turned hostile on me.

Anyone else get screwed over from trusting these filthy cats?

This one likes cats but rarely plays one. My little Khajiit at home tends to want attention while I play Skyrim so I'd say he's acting accordingly.

Mine has a habit of jumping on my lap and headbutting my control pad.

As for Khajiit I like them in Oblivion but in Skyrim the tail animation is shockingly bad and as I play 90% in 3rd person it annoys me enough to not use them

2 individuals do some things you don't like and you condemn an entire race?

I have had a thorough dislike for Dunmer, Khajiit and Argonians since Morrowind.

These races are rude, obnoxious, and dastardly in my opinion. I don't like being referred to as food, prey, or N'Wah!

It's amazing how something as simple as a dialogue choice will color your view on things.

with that said I find that the Khajiit I've met in skyrim are more tolerable. it might be that they are more nomadic and rare as a whole. When I encounter them I don't get referred to as a piece of meat or dinner.

Khajiits are cool! Didn't like them in MW and OB, but they got much more epic in Skyrim. I'm currently playing as one right now :)

Exactly. They finally have character. They aren't caricatures or cyphers. They remind me a bit of the cats from Quest for Glory, actually. Those were also Arabian-inspired ... Hm, Bethesda, you been cribbing?! :stare:

Let me quote a great person

M'aiq prefers to adventure alone. Others just get in the way. And they talk, talk, talk.
Some like taking friends on adventures. M'aiq thinks being alone is better. Less arguing about splitting treasure
Something strange happens to Khajiit when they arrive in Skyrim.
M'aiq has heard the people in Skyrim are better-looking than the ones in Cyrodiil. He has no opinion on the matter. All people are beautiful to him.
M'aiq is tired now. Go bother somebody else.
M'aiq is done talking.

Also J'zargo didn't know that the scrolls were bad, that's kinda why he asked you to "test" them ;). If you're on PC you can use console commands to place the Khajiit back at you with the armor but likelihood is if he disappeared then somehow something managed to kill him as NPCs return back to their original positions if lost or told to stay still for 3 in-game days.

They and the Redguards are both heavily influenced by Arab and African cultures. Redguards are outright stated to be most based on Moors this time around, while the Khajiit have always been closer to an amalgam of North African traders and tribesmen with some Mayan and even Chinese influences as well. Think Sahara caravans, Silk Road traders, Mayan Temples, and various lost kingdoms like the East African Kingdom of Aksum that predate even the earliest Elven settlements.

They even resemble medieval Spain with the Kingdoms of Castille and Leon being split, but eventually forced to play nice. Anequina and Pellitine.

All you need to ask yourself is...

If I were looking for some Skooma, who would I get it from...

or

What kind of ethnic Elsweyr food can I make today?

Actually you'd be surprised. It's all pastries, sweets, donuts, candies, cakes, and pies with them. Anything they can put moon sugar to.

I've been playing as Khajiit since I discovered Morrowind. In my opinion, they're the coolest race in the game. One day, Bethesda will have to give us an Elder Scrolls set in Elsewyr, and it will be awesome.

But, why did you trust a Khajiit with your best gear OP? You know he ran off and sold it for moon sugar as soon as your back was turned. After all, that's what I would do.
