Hahahah.

Anyways, you can get around it by turning off music from the game completely but it svcks not being able to listen to the beautiful music. Just learn to deal with it until it's fixed.

This is something I've been encountering all the time, but I haven't anyone talk about this yet.

When waiting in the multiplayer lobby, everything is fine. After the red "starting game" screen shows up though, the main menu music comes on, but becomes very loud and scratchy, almost like it turned everything on an equalizer all the way up to make everything sound static and bad. This is really annoying on a good sound system. (No, it's not my sound system. Everything sounds fine after the music goes away and goes back to normal.)

That and the serious multiplayer lag are my two cents of what I would like to see fixed.
Game is good overall though.

OK. Glad I'm not the only one. I haven't seen this issue put on any "Please Fix" lists, so I wondered if it was a big issue.
I think it's caused by the timer getting louder as it reaches 0, so the game gets confused and outputs the loud music file.
Basically, it should be an easy fix.

It's actually not just the start music but all the game sounds are scratchy and distorted. But I didn't notice until I upgraded my headphones. The sound engineering recorded mix levels are set to high. I hope it's one of the things that gets streamlined with the patch.

Yeah, first I thought it was supposed to be like that, but the quality was simply TOO bad, even if they were aiming for something scratchy. It hurts my ears like hell when all of a sudden it just bursts through my headphones.

Oh, yeah, I've decided to turn music volume all the way down.

Like, when the song goes "Doo doo doo doo, DOO DOO DOO DOO, DOO DOO DOO DOO"

Yes CAPITALS. So many patches past and gone and yet that terrible distorted music kicks in the multiplayer lobby, just as the game starts.

C'mon sort it out!

Turn off Music in the settings menu. Better then listening to overlapping/distorted music tracks.

Cheers. :)

Fair point. I will try that. The music in this game is very good though (unlike most). Its just that one horrible noisy distorted intro piece that kills it!

Agreed 100% this issue needs rectifying ASAP. Whats the point of the beautifly scored sound track when you cant get to hear it? Its glaringly obvious issues like this that are putting people off playing the game, because when obvious problems like that are apparent it makes people think the game is bug ridden. This is especially true when patches have been released that dont address the problem.

Its not like sound problems are new to Crytek, they should have realised audio issues would crop up. Crysis had the looping gunfire bug that was NEVER fixed. They can sure score great soundtracks and make great audio effects but they are let down in the coding department when it comes to the audio.

Crysis 2 Soundtrack is awesome ... DISTORTION svckS !!! come on how the hell they released a game with a such problem ... must be really deep in the coding of the game ... sigh
