Is anyone else hoping for a return of Chinese things?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:12 pm

So, one thing I got to thinking earlier is I remember when New Vegas came out I couldn't continue remaking my collection of Chinese memorabilia like I had in Fallout 3. Since Boston is (relatively) close to D.C., does anyone else think/hope to see a return of these?

I was actually hoping to see some evidence of Canadian resistance, but yeah I wouldn't mind finding more.

I always play a chinese character in Fallout. I think the whole sino-american war concept is awesome, especially the espionage and secret war going on between them. I'd love to see more references to this. Hell, I'd love to see descendants of chinese spies and how they're reacting to the nuclear war. Do they know who their ancestors were? Are they loyal to a forgotten country they'll know? Are they somehow sleeper agents for some sort of chinese resurgence and could go berserk at any time given the right trigger phrase?

Of course, comrade.

Let the New World not forget the glory of the People's Republic of China!

Long live Chairman Cheng!

On a more serious note, I would like to see the return of communist weapons (e.g. that AK-like chinese assault rifle) and those hip ushankas we've seen in DC! I always love those hats...

This. I'd like this.

As for memorabilia, the more the better. I'd love nothing more then have poignant reminders from the places I explored around the "wasteland".

Be it knick-knacks to place on shelves, furniture type items for my home or signs from places to decorate with. Maybe some large caliber gun shells from an army base etc.

You know, stuff so when I come home I have some reminders of how much I achieved.

Jingwei's Shocksword was one of my favorite weapons in Fallout 3. So I guess my answer would be "Yes." :)

I would be fine with it, i mean i doubt you could build a full-plot around it unless Chinese Remnants are planning to set off old nukes to re-obliterate America but that is too cliche

So true. The thing I hate about the chinese pistols in FO3 are that they are so weak, yet so cool - they are classic Mausers for God's sake!

I'd like to see the Chinese weapons again, better yet add a couple like a Chinese SMG based on the PPSh-41. They do need to buff the pistol though.

PPsh? Now that's something I want to see - it's funny how they make the PPsh (or at least an attempt to copy one) as a combat shotgun in FO3 XD

PPsh will make close quarters fighting a snap - it's basically a lead hose.

Cambridge is sometimes called "The Peoples Republic of Cambridge" due to a socialist bent in their politics.

Plus the rifle in a shot from E3 seemed awfully AK to me so fingers crossed

I'd like to see a Chinese or even Russian sleeper cell faction, maybe even British navy who came to invade! I like it when it isn't just Americans on USA soil in a vacuum.

On one hand I'm not a big fan of the whole chinese spy stuff but on the other I can expect there being sleeper cells and spies in Boston due to MiT. I just hope they don't go overboard with it like making it an entire faction, we already had that with the Shi.

I'd like to see all of it return. However, if Chinese Stealth Armor makes a comeback, it should be much harder to remain undetected. Using energy cells would be a good start, with a smaller stealth bonus. One of the FO3 mods did this nicely.

One of the guns in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzV1GlDDlv8 at 0:15 looked like a PPsh and I got really hyped for a moment until they backed out of the iron sights and it turned out to be just some random gun :cryvaultboy:

I'd love to see more WW2 weapons even though it's not super lore-friendly, I mean we've gotten the garand, 1911, thompson, BAR, mauser, and some a shotgun version of the papashaw, it'd be nice to see more including an actual PPsh.

There were a lot of the Chinese in Fallout 3 they just didn't stick out as much or were dead. At Mama Dolce's food factory you would find Ghoul People's Republic Soldiers who still think they're at war with the USA and are holding the factory as a place of hiding and setting up operations while also sending intelligence back to the Chinese Government.

If there was say a pre-war Chinese spy in Fallout 4 and we could talk to them and even possibly make them a companion, that would be awesome. That or some more Chinese tech, the Advanced Chinese Stealth Suit was amazing in Fallout 3, completely changed the game for me. And even if it were say, a pre-war Chinese Bomber in a ditch or in hiding and untouched by the bombs I would set up camp around the very thing that brought this beautiful world to us.

Yes I have a table in my Megaton safehouse dedicated to the Chinese. I have on it the Zhu-Rong Chinese pistol, a Chinese assault rifle(sometimes the Xuanlong, sometimes the nice and shiny Operation Anchorage one), Jungwei's shocksword, and a Chinese Army: Special Ops Training Manual.

I'd also like to see WW2 era weapons and from earlier times as well. Apparently Teddy Roosevelt had a suppressed rifle: http://www.guns.com/2012/05/18/nra-national-firearms-museum-theodore-roosevelt-collection-suppressed-winchester-model-1894/

The thing is that things make in China has their own retro style. You can't expect it to be USA-style retro, rather China-style retro. Like the stealth suit.

I still want a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SVD_Dragunov.jpg as a Chinese Sniper Rifle.

Yes, it's from USSR but Fallout 3 had an AKA-47 of a... well, of an AK-47, ironically, as a Chinese Assault Rifle :hehe:
