Anyone else kinda pissed off by the GOTY edition?

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 2:30 am

I bought the $120 Amazon Survival Edition the day it came out and have hardly been able to play it because of bugs. I've avoided the DLCs because in my opinion they are a cheap money-making scam and should have been a part of the game at launch. Now they release the game and all 5 of the DLCs for the original price of the game. How convenient for those that wisely chose not to help make Fallout 3 one of the highest selling games of last year. Basically what that says to me is "No matter how many years you've been waiting for our game, do yourself a favor and don't buy it when it comes out. It will be a buggy mess almost a year later and we're going to release a version that will save you loads of money around that same time."

Thank you, Bethesda...lesson learned.

I hope you didn't strain yourself coming up with that deeply profound statement.

I guess buggy games that never get fixed and $50 worth of extra ripoff that gets repackaged and sold with the full game a year later should just be tolerated. Thanks for showing me the light.

You mean New Vegas, right?

To the OP: Are you saying the game is buggier than the normal one? If so, explain.

So you would prefer that they sell the GOTY Edition for $90 - $150 just to make the people who bought the game at launch feel better?
GREAT IDEA!!!

Exactly...a huge slap in the face. If would have spent $170 if I bought all of the DLCs. Now, if I would have waited a year, could have all of it for 50 bucks. That in and of itself wouldn't be so bad if I could actually play the damn game. Every new patch does nothing but add achievements to the DLC. Definitely don't bother to fix the freezing issues before you add achievements to your $10 ripoffs, Bethesda.

I think you may be over exaggerating the bugs just a slight bit.

So I take it you haven't studied bethesda's track record and realized that this was bound to happen? Good job!

Oh yeah, this is gonna be closed any minute now.
