Anyone else's last days on New Vegas?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:52 am

With Skyrim coming up, was just wondering if this was anyone elses remaining days on New Vegas. I've been putting way too many hours into this game recently. But its been a blast. I've done the other three endings, but I don't think I will have time to finish the Legion side with only a couple days left. Never played Elder Scrolls before, but i'm in the mood for something new and a challenge. Despite the ocassional bug/glitch/freeze through out, New Vegas was still a pretty sweet game. It will be missed.

Nah I'll still keep going back to it from time to time. I actually haven't played in awhile and I'm thinking about maybe doing another playthrough/build here pretty soon.

Nope! Though I think Skyrim will be a lot of fun, I'd be shocked if TES replaced Fallout as my preferred Bethesda series; I simply love Fallout far too much.

Not me. I'm kinda curious about Skyrim, but I can wait another year, the most egregious bugs would have been patched by then, and there will be some mods to play around with. Plus it'll probably be cheaper.

But then that's me. I only got into New Vegas in the last two months.

I love both series, but I just finished the game a second time, clocking just over 102 hours with all four DLC. I'm "spent" as far as New Vegas goes. I'm actually putzing about in F3 right now with a few mods for spice. Sigh....F3 makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

Not even close. I still haven't made a sucessful unarmed character yet. Don't get me wrong, I'll play Skyrim, and I've still got Witcher sitting in the que and just bought Dead Island, but hack-n-slash gets old with me after a while. I needz my Boomstick.

I'll play Skyrim for a while but I'll still go back to New Vegas here and there. Once I've played the hell out of Skyrim I'll probably devote most of my videogame time to New Vegas once again.

I don't really like TES, zombie games, or most of these first person games. Fallout's the first, and it's my favorite. I'll probably give Mass Effect a go at some point, but I have zero interest in Skyrim and will keep playing FO:NV.

Yep. I'm just finishing up a excelltn playthrough in NV, so I can save and come back to it at a later time. But once Skyrim drops, I'm sure I'll be devoting my gaming time to it :)

I need a break from New vegas, been playing it too much and I'm not very good at RPing so its like doing the same thing over and over.
I won't be taking that break to play Skyrim though since I'm still not 100% convinced I'm getting it. But meanwhile I have CoD to keep me company.

It's not like you have to stop playing a game forever just because another one comes out.

Also taking a break from FNV for the moment, replaying oblivion and waiting on reviews of Skyrim.

I'm over the first initial addiction to Fallout, but I dont think I'll ever stop playing completely, simply because roaming free around a massive wasteland doing whatever the hell you want can be a very thereapeutic time-out when playing other games with more strict game play. After playing DriverSF and being bossed around by my bossy obnoxious black partner for three hours, going back to the wastelands to chill out and not be held responsible for anyones death can be fun.

I will play Skyrim soon. Probably not until later in the month. Oblivion was the first open world game I played. I absolutely loved it. One of the coolest things about Oblivion was enchanting your own weapons and armor/clothing. You named your new weapon and armor! Nothing like using Stiefel's Fire Blade! While wearing Stiefel's Aqua Stryders (boots that let me walk on water). Much more satisfying RP.

Although, the variety of playability in FONV is unparalleled. I love both games for different reasons.

Im not going to quit playing up until I get shipped out for air force basic. The new cod doesn't interest me one bit, and the whole skyrim (dungeons and dragons) thing just seems really really lame. So no, im not going to stop because of some new game. So there...

I'm not paying sixty bucks for a Bethesda game that doesn't have mods. Ergo, I'm probably going to end up waiting for good mods to come out and the price to go down.

So I'll be playing FNV for some time yet. And even after I get Skyrim, I doubt I'll leave the Mojave behind. Obsidian's writing is just too good.

Nah, I'm going to play them both.

Skyrim more-so though as it's the newer one.
But I'm not done with New Vegas yet, I just did Vault 11 for the first time, and wow... Great storyline.

I'll play stop playing while I play Skyrim... obviously.
But the one thing about great games (like great books) is that you keep going back to them. Ultima 7, Baldur's Gate 1/2, Dues Ex, Fallout 1/2, Arcanum, Torment, Dragon Age 1, Neverwinter Nights... I replay them once every two years or so. Sometimes more. And now New Vegas is on that list.

Mixed feelings. I've got into New Vegas in a way I had not anticipated. I've just finished my Yes Man ending ready for Skyrim, but still have many unresolved thoughts. I've never done a Melee/Unarmed playthrough and want to make it work, despite my instinctive dislike for close quarters combat.

If Skyrim got delayed for a month or two I could live with that. I've got a new character planned out in New Vegas and Fallout 3 that I want to try.

So mixed thoughts. But I know I'll get Skyrim on day 1 and most probably love it, even though it's my first ever adventure into an Elder Scrolls game.

I'll play skyrim but I'll keep coming back to New Vegas until the next fallout game. I probably wouldn't be if not for the dlc's and mods.

"Last days"? Seriously?

I'll be playing NV for a long, long time to come. And I'll find a way to play the (censorship!) out of Skyrim (and any other excellent game for that matter) while still wandering the Mojave Wasteland.

Well said and I agree. Always fun to go back to a great game! Even though I have to admit when I went back to Baldurs Gate 1 I got mauled! Defintely forgot about the difficulty.

I never player Arcanum or Torment. May have to try it one day.
