Anyone else not like the legendary gun thing

It's really lame when "unique" weapons are just named legendary weapons eg. party starter from kleo could just be assassin's missile launcher. I also hate how legendary weapons are the only loot that is worth anything. Alpha deathclaw drops strictly worse loot than a legendary radroach which dies in one hit.

i really dont care about Legendary weapons, why? bc add something to do after getting all done, Unique weapons are good but they tent to show early on game, like the plasma Rifle on NV that i got it on my way to Vegas.

That ain't too bad actually if you mod it it would do just 1 point of base damage less than a super sledge and its faster than one and causes bleeding as well. Not too shabby IMO.

EDIT wait I was thinking of the Tire Iron not the pipe wrench sorry. Not sure of the mods for that but it should do 43 base damage unmodded anyway so again not too shabby when compared to 99% of the melee non legendary weapons in terms of base damage.

See guys, it's not just me complaining about this. Option to toggle things like "Unlimited ammo and other magical abilities" would have been nice. And it would have kept the guns with more realistic abilities as well. want both? Tick the option. Want just the other? Untick it. Problem solved. Everyone wins.

easy solve with a mod, probably.

But as many other have points, they are happy. Remember game arent made just for some ppl, they are made for everyone. So is hard to get every option when everyone want different things.

I don't like them either. They feel like enchanted swords from Skyrim. I would be OK with them if they would offer plain bonus to damage or defense but those fantastic effects ...no. I newer use them, they feel out of place in this game. Fact that you can find rifle inside cockroach does not feel right either.

I just feel like the loot system could've been done much better..I get bethesda is trying to do something for everyone..but this loot system just feels very out in left field...I'm not sure where this idea came from

Something for everyone only works when we, the players, have the option of what to want in the game or not when playing it.

Which is such a simple thing to do with something like this in an options menu. Why are we relying on mods for something so simple that should already be in game again?

I'm only using one legendary weapon and that's my 10mm with 15 points of fire damage. Since this is my primary weapon, that 15 points really helps out.

I have a rocket launcher that does 50% more damage againt humans, but it's stores away. I don't use rocket launchers.

Every other legendary has been sold, because the effect was either ridiculous (like frenzy) or on a weapon I don't use.

I also sell legendary armor, if it's light enough to carry. Otherwise, I just leave it.

Yeah i think i'd prefer a far more extensive mod system with far more differing effects with +'s and -'s,maybe legendary mods that dropped.It'd add far more variety to drops instead of a whole weapon with one effect.

They should have just stuck with unique weapons. The current system really cheapens everything as a whole, as you can have multiples of the same legendary. Not to mention there are no longer weapons with their own unique aesthetics anymore. Best part about uniques, especially in New Vegas, was having this weapon you know no one could ever have but you. That looked better and was stronger than every other gun in the wasteland. With the current system, you can run into another weapon that looks like, and has the same effects as, your custom weapon. And that just makes me sad when I see it happen...

I don't mind the legendary guns but I hate it when human legendary enemies "mutate". I'd rather they just used an auto-inject stimpack or some other chem instead of going super saiyan, fair enough for irradiated creatures, but it looks [censored] stupid when humans do it.

The fact that insects and molerats can drop legendary weapons is a bit [censored] though, it has to be said.

And why cant we scrap them? It makes no sense...

Why have an option to turn on/off something that is already OPTIONAL to begin with?
If people don't like legendary stuff, then you don't need to use it..you can just as easily play 100s of hours without them..

I have only found 2-3 legendary items that I like that fit my style..I think they should make better, but, more exclusive items..

I won't use any of the garbage legendary items, seem sadly out of place. Like they tried to rip off Borderlands in a way and turned it into a very light verson.

Don't get me started on the modding system, everyone more then likely ends up with the same Sniper rifle lol...Nothing is really unique IMO of the system. There will always be the best weapon via the mod system.

I love it. My build is VATS so the Righteous Authority is crazy. All I carry now is that, Wounding 10mm pistol, Relentless 50 cal sniper and the Ripper to chop up the enemies who attack my settlements.

I find lot's of legendaries but most are crap. Or worse than crap. I use a combat armor briast with +1 strength and +1 agility and a 10mm with +25% damage (however only as a sidearm because I'm a rifle guy). But I still get excited when I have killed a legendary enemy and start looting. So all in all perhaps I like the legendary system. Playing on Survival and mostly without power armor I need every advantage I get.

BTW Fallout is a fantasy game in so many aspects, it's not extremely convincing to argue against weapons with magical abilities. I hope we get a "reality overhaul mod" sooner or later, with more and more realistic damage for some weapons, ammo weight and the restriction to carry only one long gun, one handgun and perhaps a heavy. I would not overly appreciate realistic weapons plus the ability to store a Fatman, Minigun and 5 rifles+ in my pant's pockets.
