Anyone else playing Skyrim until Fallout 4's release?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 11:07 am

I was actually playing Skyrim up until about a month ago, along with Dragon Age Origins, but then I got fantasied out and decided to re-play FO3 - and while checking for new mods and updates I learned about the up-coming FO4 release :twirl:

So I've decided to finish that playthrough, and then do another FNV run with all the DLCs (which I bought but never got around to actually playing...) before I play FO4. I figure by then it'll have gone through a few patches and be better for it.

But I will be curious to see what they improve on from Skyrim, along with New Vegas. I believe I read that some of the newer features in FNV (like needs and weapon modifications) were inspired by mods, so it'll be interesting to see what they take from the modding community of both games and add to Fallout 4. (Crossing my fingers for more interesting, fleshed-out companions and NPCs - since this is a huge opportunity in Fallout and especially Skyrim).

I'm just finishing up a run through of Fallout 3. Was going to have a quick blast through Fallout: New Vegas next, but might switch that to Skyrim with the HD texture mods to gauge how my PC may handle Fallout 4.

I had a lot of time to play in the last half year and the hype led me to Fallout 3 in June. I explored just about most locations, which was very entertaining, since every hole seems to have a story behind it. I did not touch the DLCs really because I had a huge texture problem, i.e. I had all the red triangle/exclamation bugs associated with Broken Steel not installing properly. In the end it spoiled my fun a bit, since I would have liked to play Point Lookout for the first time.

In the last month I played NV again, putting 50 hours in it, visiting every location, but lost motivation after the second DLC (Dead Money is really the best DLCs for me, close second is Mothership Zeta). The real long-time motivation is just not there after you've seen everything, but I did rush through it. I intend to spend more time in Fallout 4, that means read everything and so forth.

As for Skyrim, I played it a lot 260 hours which is quite some time considering I never really played much of the DLCs. They are a bit lackluster to me, too. That being said the core game is beautiful and huge, compared to NV and Fallout 3 I have not visited all locations there. I think though, as I mostly play the same character (stealth bowman) I do not think I will be replaying it again for any time soon.

Still it is really nice to see Skyrim and the others being so popular right now. :)

I just picked up the Metro Redux series for cheaps. I beat both of them this week. Those games got me more in the mood for Fallout than any other game I've played.

Yeah skyrim needed more dlc.. I hope BGS make more for fallout. Borderlands 2 as one person posted is amazing; if you have a buddy to play with you it is the best co op campaign game of all time.

After nearly 2,000 hours of Skyrim since November of 2011, I think it has finally ran its course. I think I got my money's worth though. To kill time before Fallout 4 I just find myself watching videos and reading lore.

I have a single character in each modern Beth game, and I plan to play them forever. Skyrim has been getting some playtime recently, alongside the obvious choices of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Im going to be pretty happy when I can round everything off and have 3 TES characters and 3 Fallout characters to enjoy with Fallout 4. I also think ill be in The Commonwealth for quite some time before I visit Skyrim or Vegas again. :P

I am playing Heroes 3 Of Might and Magic. Still the hardest game I have ever played and it is still perfect 15 years later.

I'm actually playing Skyrim myself. Though not to kill time for Fallout 4. I'm playing it to recover from The Phantom Pain disappointment. As long as I had Skyrim, I never actually finished the main quest and figured now is a good time to do so.

I would jump into New Vegas and try to finish that up as well, though New Vegas gets so boring every time I attempt to play it, I don't know if I'll ever finish that game.

Nothing like replaying Fallout 3 to get ready for Fallout 4.

Replaying Skyrim doesn't really make as much sense to me.

I stayed away from the hype - was super busy - until now, so I think I timed the replay just right.

I'm kind of burnt out on Skyrim. I've done all the factions, did most of the interesting quests so...there's not much left to do. :/ I'm playing other games to pass the time. It was Fallout 3 for a while, then Saints Row and now I'm fixed on Mario Maker.

Never stopped playing Skyrim. It's always a work in process like New Vegas and FO3. Right now I'm playing Fallout 3, play-testing a couple of mods.

I bought the one where the king was played by that guy that was the captain in the new Star Trek.

It was really fun, until I got to the first city. Five hours later I came to the realization there was only two things here; Jack and ****.

I simply never played again after that.

I ran through Fallout 3 GOTY, Fallout NV with all DLC and am now starting Skyrim with all DLC. I think I can time it perfectly to finish all main quests and most faction quests (Thieves Guild, Winterhold, Dark Brotherhood, etc.) by the time Fallout 4 opens up.

I've been playing Civ 4 and Lord of the Rings Online. Man, with FO4 coming out, I'm going to have to find a way to master quantum mechanics so I can find the time to play all of these games.
