Anyone else playing Skyrim until Fallout 4's release?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 5:19 pm

I need to kill time between now and Fallout 4's release. I recently beat Fallout 3 again, and I've run out of horror games to play for October. So I'm just gonna play Skyrim.

Mainly because it's a really good way to make time fly by, but also partially because I want to directly compare Bethesda's last game and their most recent one. To see how similar, or dissimilar they are. And to see how much better, or worse, Fallout 4 is then Skyrim. (Not that I expect it to be worse, of course!)

So is anyone else playing Skyrim while waiting for Fallout 4? Are you playing it just to kill time, or because you also want to compare it to Fallout 4? Or both?

I played new Vegas the last few months to hold me over. I tried skyrim but couldn't get back into it (probably because I have played it a million hours)

I picked up the game Dying Light. It is a blast and will be great for the next 2 weeks till FO4. :)

After Fallout 3, I considered replaying New Vegas for, like, the fifth time. But it's the kind of game where once I start playing it, I get SUPER into it and it becomes the only game I play for weeks, sometimes months. I purposefully avoided replaying it again because I didn't want it to distract me from Fallout 4.

I'm currently replaying it. A 'blind' Khajiiti Monk character.

Me! Started a new Redguard Mage character loosely inspired by Baron Samedi of Voodoo lore.

Destruction
Conjuration (focusing on Necromancy)
Restoration
Illusion
Alchemy
One handed weapons (for back up, war axe focus, might change to dagger)

Thanks to being very pleasantly surprised by Telltale's Tales From The Borderlands I decided to give Borderlands 2 another try. Never could get into it before, but I'm having a blast with it now.

Despite being a fairly different game there are enough similarities with Fallout to keep me in the right mood.

Not that Fallout 4 itself wouldn't be able to get me in the mood for Fallout 4. :)

Went back to GTA 5, but have also had a bit of time with Skyrim around June July period.

But now the hours and days are just so damn slow, wish I could get put into a medically induced coma for a period until I can go get my game from the shop, this last period of waiting is horrible.

Wow, I didn't realize it was so close! I'm just working and playing RUSE (haha) until I get through the campaign, then maybe try Fallout 3 for a few days. F4 is released on a Tuesday so I have a nice 3 days to play it before my first shift back in work!

I'm about to end my current playthrough and use it to set up my twitch channel. Maybe fix some bugs I've found on my Mods. But as of 11.11 (or was it 10.11) I'm gone from Skyrim for at least 4 weeks, if not longer.

I've been playing Skyrim almost non-stop since release :P But yeah I'm trying to finally get through Dragonborn before FO4. Also started New Vegas again in an effort to play Lonesome Road without rushing through it like I did when it was released.

I thought about playing FO3 or NV until FO4 but I feel like FO4 is going to be so different from those two that it would make the transition weird at best, so I went back into some of my old Skyrim saves and have been basically just messing around.

You guys are lucky to actually be playing games, i won't be able to play games until i go home on the 18th of December. Luckily Fallout 4 will be out, and hopefully the major bugs will be ironed out by then, i will be able to escape the over bearing Christmas adverts/songs/decoration etc for a while with Fallout 4.

I did dust it off last week for my 360. Nearly four years old and the game still puts a huge smile on my face. :D

I've got a Skyrim game going, but I'm not playing it very heavily. My latest Fallout (TTW) play was too recent, and I figured it would be best to play something in a whole different genre anyway so that Fallout 4 would feel as fresh as possible when I finally got my hands on it.

Alternating between Skyrim and FNV, while working through all the YouTube modding tutorials. All of my tools are upgraded for Windows 10, so I am as ready as can be, given that we don't know what has changed yet.

Been playing Wasteland 2 and Civ 5 lately. I don't want to overdue it on Beth games because I will be playing F4 exclusively for a long time if past games are any indication.
