Anyone else really excited about crafting?

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:33 am

I don't know much about crafting,
But I'm assuming when I start the game for the first time I'll be able to go to the first small town in the area and start some jobs,
I'm hoping to forge and tailor all the equipment i need for my first Run-through, thats sounds possible right? Become a miner to make whatever blade I can and possibly some armor or a shield
not sure if I'm going to go heavy or light armor, but just to confirm I CAN make my own leather armor from animal's right?

What are your thoughts and ideas?

Sincerely, Myezule

Crafting is my drug. Any game with crafting in it I spend a long time on it as long as its good (and sometimes even when its bad) But I hope its really good only heard very little about it however.

I agree with you there, I believe enchanting and smithing will go good together, but it will be hard to put most of my perks into those skills imo.

It really depends on how how in depth the system turns out being.

If I just have to go to cave X get 3 iron ore, go to a forge, click a button, look I have a pretty sword.... yeah not so interested.

However if they allow for experimentation and customization I will be more excited.

So far, I like the sound of what has been said about crafting. I am very much looking forward to experienceing for myself.

For me this is a plus feature.

Sibyl hopes there is a loom and she can tailor some of her own clothing.

Couldn't be more exciting. I believe that the 3 crafting systems, a long with cooking, will be the greatest systems the RPG genre has seen in the last 20 years.

No I'm not. It's just personal, because I find it tedious to collect and manage all the required materials. :P

should be intresting to find out just what the crafting system is like. or how indepth the coustomization is.

i'd love to see if using diffrent hides will give you diffrent looks to leather armour and such. it should be intresting to say the least. i do like crafting especialy when it lets me costomize my gears apearence. even if its as simple as a set of dyes or the ability to put etching of swords and metal armours.

Agreed!

About the cooking part, not much (if anything) is known about it but food can be prepared (cooked) to gain more potent effects! :)

Not as excited as I was when I thought we'd be able to change the appearance of weapons and armor. Still it's a lot more than what we got with Oblivion and Morrowind.

I'm stoked about crafting. My first playthrough will have all three crafting trees maxed, because I'm very curious how far it can go. I want to have a completely self-sufficient type character, who only makes money off of vendors, rather than spending a dime.

I figure it'll be a grind at points, but the endgame should see me decked out in top-of-the-line gear. (And loaded with cash from selling my skill-gaining remnants.)

I can't wait to forge my own armor and sword! Wonder if we'll (finally) be able to change the color of our armor and clothing (and maybe weapons?).

If they really went to town on the details of it (Need so many bars of this kind for the blade, tanned leather/fur/etc for the hilt then take it to a sharpening stone) I'll really enjoy it, but if its hurdur 2 iron bars and you have a sword i'll be disappointed and probably not experiment with it

I love crafting too, and always max out as much of it as I possibly can in games I play.
I am especially excited about alchemy this time around. I love gathering ingredients
and tinker with different potions. They always come in so handy when out and about.
