Anyone else taking a hiatus from an MMO for Skyrim?

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 4:15 am

My hiatus from MMOs started when I was born and is currently ongoing.
Same here. MMOs never appealed to me.

My wow subscription will run out the 27th of this month, i had canceled the sub a few days ago. All my 85s are hordies, however recently I was playing mostly allys. ...If I was playing which hasn't been too much as of late.

I will be taking a break from LOTRO, even though i haven't been playing it much lately because of all these good games coming out so close together lol.

I had gotten back into DDO a couple months earlier, stopped for now since I can't contain my excitement for Skyrim.

The only MMO type game that I used to play was Guild Wars. I played the hell out of that and then one day it all went to ******* at the start of this year. Meh. Now I just want Skyrim and... give me SP any day of the week. IMHO playing online with others is over-rated.

I'm currently playing WOW as a hiatus from SP RPGs. Only the free trial edition though.

Used to play WoW. Quit a few months ago, so no need for a hiatus.

Where the heck are you guys finding girlfriends that like playing videogames. I thought attractive girls that are serious gamers were just a myth.

No, but I will not be playing SW:TOR on release because I will still be playing Skyrim.

Yeah, no more Champions Online for me until I get bored of skyrim. Might take awhile though.

I'm doing the same thing for WoW. I love WoW, but the second a new TES game comes out, you won't see me on WoW for months.

Both my girlfriend and I play WoW (for the Alliance~!), and I currently have gotten into EVE (Caldari pride~!) online as well. I've already declined to renew my sub to warcraft, and it'll be ending on the 17th this month; EVE I'm keeping on simply to keep my skill training going.

Despite the 'addictiveness' of mmo's, I've always found I'll drop any of them at the drop of a hat for a good console game.
O cool I was a former alliance but I quit after I lost my job due to the fact that I was clocking in about 100 hours a week with wow and the fact that the monthly and new area fees were killing my savings account. The crazy thing is that it's been almost 2 years since then and I still get "withdraw" symptoms, which is pretty unreal.

Anyway, back to the topic, I would suggest, had hope that TES keeps being unique in the sense that it does not become a MMO since there are already so many fantasy MMO's out there. Also, I like how the story is more interesting and personalized, compared to MMO's, were you in one in thousands or millions so it makes the game more enjoyable. -_-
