Anyone else think the Skeletons just aren't as scary?

While on the topic of monsters from past TES games, am I the only one who thinks Mannimarco looked better as a http://images.uesp.net/5/59/DF-King_of_Worms.png than he did rendered in http://images.uesp.net/thumb/6/6e/OB-npc-Mannimarco.jpg/600px-OB-npc-Mannimarco.jpg

Skeletons should be weak, there is no sinew to hold the bones together. I remember the noise they would make in Daggerfall and it always struck me as odd, seeing as they have no lungs or vocal cords or lips.

But in Skyrim the skeletons are way too weak. One cough and the bones fly around the whole room. :( I miss the champions who were tough.

Skeletons have never been scary. I only feared them in Oblivion because they had scaled versions, Skeleton Champions that could take more hits and do more damage than any skeleton has any right to be doing. Skyrim skeletons are perfect - they're just bones, hitting them once should do the trick. It's more immersive that way.

Well there are scaled versions of them in Skyrim too, they wear cloth hoods and take about 4 or 5 hits to go down. I first encountered them in a large dungeon on one of the mage college's later quests. They're still just called skeletons though.

Lack of zombies and wraiths makes me sad. They were the scariest creatures
