Who else is waiting for all DLCs to come out as well as the final patch before starting Fallout 4?

If i were to wait as long as that one vote, i would lose interest in the buying the game.

I already have 2 characters level 45+

besides that, I wouldn't have gone to the midnight release to get it, if I was going to wait to play it..

I played it 30 minutes before its technical release date..(midnight release was 11pm where I'm at)

I bought the pip-boy pre order edition.

Like hell I was gonna just set it aside when it came on Nov. 11!

I had to wait just over 2 weeks after release to get the game. That alone was far too long to wait!! Couldn't possibly wait another say, 15-18 months or so.

Nah. I can see the appeal, since I didn't play FO3 until the GOTY edition was out, and it's fun to feel that the narrative world is really, really, huge, but from every Beth game I've played so far, experience tells me the DLC will either be pretty well walled-off from the events of the main storyline, or implemented in a way that diminishes/interrupts my enjoyment of it.

Broken Steel and Dawnguard both annoyed the flaming hell out of me when they were installed prior to finishing their respective vanilla quest-lines.

What? Wait and not play until the DLC comes out, install it and says. 'Level 50 or better required to play.'

Nah, Bethesda games don't need to rely on DLC or mods, they're just an added plus and this includes Fallout 4. It's a great game.

Nope, I'm already hip deep, waiting for the Geck and more ambitious mods than just the reskins and what that are on offer...

A few quality of life mods exist...craftable ammo being one...

I will laugh if all the DLCs only start after you beat the game, no, why would you wait?

Why would I buy DLC for a game I hadn't played?

To clarify I would buy a game with included DLC, but I certainly wouldn't wait especially for it and given how stable Fallout 4 has proven to be, waiting for patches seems a waste of time unless you have an actual problem.

Too late for me.... I pre-ordered the game when it was selling for $48.

However, I did not buy Skyrim until after all DLC were released. I was kinda disappointed with Oblivion. I don't think I spent more than 40 hours on that game and I never bothered finishing the game. I guess it was too much of a change from Morrowind. I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition for something like $20 - $30 so that if I didn't like the game at least I didn't buy it at full price when it launched. I liked it much more than Oblivion.

I was thinking of it, but couldn't wait. Just wish the game didn't make me sick playing otherwise I would have had 100's of hours like a lot of other people playing. At the rate I am playing all the DLC will be out before I get half way through the game lol.

That is the dumbest thing I've read in a while, why would you wait on DLC when those won't be out for a while. We don't even know when GECK is coming out, as far as we know that'll be end of March. If that's the case DLC ain't happening for awhile...Just buy the game and play...

If I actually decide to purchase this game, it will be 6 months to a year after the last DLC. By then, mods will have fixed 98% of things and the mod choices will be vast.

Why pay extra for a game you might not like? Why not try the base game, and then decide on DLC or not? Don't understand this mindset, but to each their own. Me, I'm not planning on the DLC's, as I am not overly satisfied with the base-game. I might warm up to it, when more things have been ironed out. I usually let my wallet "talk" when I am not satisfied with a product (Not all is bad in FO4, just the thing that matter most to me in Fallout games)

Played 2 days worth of the game already on two playthroughs :P

I'm going back to NV and Skyrim and maybe once I miss Fallout 4 again, there will be the first DLC and GECK mods. :)

Oh, I'm playing alright. Like I'd sit on this game for another year after waiting FIVE...I don't think so.

I am waiting for the GECK however, prior to playing the game modded though.

And regarding DLCs, I'm probably not going to get what I want out of them, since my biggest issue with the game is the severe streamlining and second class citizen nature of ballistic weapons, and the removal of things like grenade launchers, the antimateriel rifle, a real assault rifle, shotgun perks, creative explosives, ammo types, reloading and handloads...and these are so obviously not a priority for Bethesda. I mean how do those small details compete with jet packs? So I predict more of the same out of their DLCs, and hence am not all that excited about them...so I feel no need whatsoever to wait for DLCs just to play this game. I mean seriously, should I get all worked up because they're going to add in more areas that look virtually the same as the Commonwealth, with a tad more mediocre dialogue, a few more unmemorable NPCs, with (perhaps) an added bonus of a couple more crappy weapons added?

Honestly, there is still a ton of content and exploration ahead of me after 265 hours; but weapons have quickly run their course, now that I see little need to carry anything other than a Gauss Rifle and Missile Launcher. So just adding more of what we already have in spades, is not all that much for me to look forward to...and certainly nothing to defer playing the main game for.

Apparently, due to Bethesda's seemingly entrenched vision I can't seem to wholly buy into, only modders will be able to make the things I want and the improvements I desire. As such, I'm only going to hold off playing mods...and wait for the GECK.

In Beth's defense, at least they give us a toolkit, and in the per hour of play vs $ spent arena, they have no peer.

I don't think i've ever waited for DLC or a patch to play a game. I've waited for price drops, and usually won't buy a game right a launch knowing it will need a patch, most games do. Waiting for DLC or some massive patch just seems odd to me.

With fallout 4 I of course couldn't wait, not even till release. Pre ordered and preloaded it as soon as I could

I've got over 300 hours into my first play through and stopped at level 100 before starting my second play through a few days ago.

So in a word, no.
