Nah. Godlike = boring over time.
I like the challenge and reward when you have to use your head as well as martial prowess to outwit and defeat your foe.

Well, maybe just pit yourself against more and more powerful threats.

You are trying to stop a god from destroying the world anyway.

I don't want to become god like. My game always ends when I reach that point, which I didn't succeed on avoiding in the long run. In Oblivion at least I had a difficulty slider, I just wish I could slow down leveling without fights getting into the ridiculous side.

Dragon shouts aren't as overpowered as people think. You're going to have to find all of the words for each ability for one, then you have a cool down period after using them. You won't be able to teleport everywhere at a whim (I'll fix that with mods though...mwahaha!). You do it planned once and then wait for the it to cool down. The same goes for the time slowing shout; they haven't even given us a big clue as to how long this slow down will last. Just remember-dragon shouts ARE on cool down, it's confirmed.
snip

It says in OXM
a tap of the RB slows the entire scene down for 8 seconds.......learn the rest of the phrase and you'll get even longer

But, do you slow down too? If you do than it is only a slight advantage. You may be able to see an attack or aim your spell a little quicker but in the end it wouldn't be too useful. Plus they can still tweak the duration at any time before or after release (via patches).

well the bit I left out in the ..... of my quote says
allowing you to casually plant arrows in the skulls of any surrounding enemies
which seems to mean you are still at normal speed, although i wouldn't say that is conclusive.

Godlike? JUMPING is your opinion of godlike?

Sure, I'd dig being godlike. I'd LOVE to have spells which allowed me to manifest my thoughts into reality. I'd definitely LOVE being able to bring down my divine wrath upon those who would stand against me. Impossible storms and fires summoned up from the Deadlands themselves... an army of atronachs descending upon those who oppose my rule. I would love to take my weapon and make it an ARTIFACT... and then use that weapon to cut down god and men alike.

But JUMPING!?

I'm not worried that I can't jump fifty feet straight up in the air, no.

Is anyone else worried that you wont be able to have godlike abilitys?

i mean where you have stuff like speed, acrobatics, atletics and movement associated skills above 100 and only be able to jump, like 3 feet whereas in oblivion when you could be buffed out,you could jump like 20 feet as if you were godlike, most people who have had a level 40+ character probly know what i mean. but basically, you'll only be able to jump or run normally even if you have that skill maxed, in an attempt to "make it more realistic".

Godlike abilities?
So no water-walking now? :teehee:

I am sure you can become pretty powerful, but god-like abilities would be too boring for me.
I used to just retire my characters when they got to a high enough level to be powerful.

I'd prefer to have a badass mundane character that cant run at full sprint forever or jump 10ft in the air. Playing as a god-like being is overrated and already been done (Oblivion) So I'm going to say that I hope they keep it realistic, having god-like abilities is kind of an immersion breaker unless you're playing a god.

Dragonshouts sound rather godlike to me.

Only if they didn't have a cooldown

Well i think if you were godlike.. I don't think you should get different moves... but maybe altered spell.... like if your fireball disappears on contact.. instead it could bounce off walls and stuff...
