I don't want god-like abilities.

Me either, I like to play as if I was there in RL and that means I like it challenging, in RL I was a ranger in the army and many people think that means you were born hardier then others, that you have some inate unfair advantage over others, but this is not the case, it just means you like challenges to test yourself against, the tougher the better for your own sake, not for glory or praise, but just for the joy of judging yourself, and if those things had come easy I would have been bored with it quickly, the same goes for the game world I wanna test myself in the game, being godlike is for prissys, who let themselves get wedgies from the bigger guys at school, and never try to defend themselves from a pink belly attack in the locker room, getting your [censored] kicked just means you gotta try harder, and gives you something to look forward to,.... nothing is better then an [censored] whopping, then getting up smiling thru the busted lip thinking Man I wanna do that again, but im gonna have to change my strategy lol,.......nope screw Godlike !!!

Yeah, it seems that way. Oh well, I'll miss the days when a single spell could wipe out a city, or being able to box the Tribunal, but times are ch-ch-ch-changing.

I don't want the "godlike abilities" to dissapear, it just needs some toning down. I don't want to be able to jump 20 feet and run 100 miles an hour. The realism needs to dominate, but leveling should make you run and jump faster, yes. I agree, sort of.

Of course im concerned, I play elder scrolls because i can become very powerful and godlike! I have no interest in being as weak as a mere mortal in a game, i'm like that in real life!

I don't like restricting jump height to Real Life, because as previously mentioned, some aspects of Real Life are missing in games, so the games have to overcompensate. Great jump heights are required to make up for the inability to grab ledges, climb, vault, or even just move out of at the height of a jump. In order to vault over someone in a game, you have to jump significantly higher than their height, especially if physics are wonky.

I think just being able to take multiple weapon blows and get to the point that you could go to sleep while a level 1 Bandit attacked you, then wake up and kill him later is pretty Godlike.

I hope someday Bethesda brings out a game with a much smaller variance in HP by level.

No, I'm not worried. I want god-like abilities... after I grow many levels and should naturally expect to be god-like, anyway, but the thought of taking down dragons and getting dragon shouts makes me believe we will, after earning them, attain god-like abilities, so I'm not worried.

Jumping 20 feet is just ridiculous. Instead, give us levitation!

No i`m worried we will be godlike..the shouts alone could make the PC very overpowered, summoning a dragon to fight for you etc.

I'm not bothered about being god like.
If i am,i want something else to be too,i always want a challenge.
I like even fights,or fights that are tougher...especially being an assassin type...( they are just too good ) :)

We don't know how many perks there will be per skill (maybe some skills will have more some less?) but it can't be more than 5. So I guess if you max out the perks on two combat oriented skills then I guess that by level 10 you would already be very powerful but I think there will be plenty of reason to invest in different skills early on to get the bonuses early before leveling up slows down.

No, there's no point. Do people seriously play games and say to themselves "damn, why can't I just kill everything instantly?!"

I don't need fancy powers to be godlike. Simply knowing every detail and nuance in the game from repeated playthroughs and actively using that knowledge is enough for me.

I don't mind being able to jump high and run fast. But I want to feel like I had to sacrifice something to be able to do it. So godlike in some skills if I choose to, yeah sure. Godlike in everything when I'm not even trying? Hell no! When I feel ready enough to start the main quest at a high level, I want to have a *defined character* that pretty much dictates how I have to play it out to succeed.

i agree that realism should only go to a certain point. this is a fantasy rpg game with magic, is magic realistic? no. is magic a huge part of the game? yes. realism shouldnt govern a game completely

Yeah, I think this is a hard point to address, because "god-like" doesn't leave a whole lot of room for toning down. As it stands right now, things get silly at the max-levels, but I wouldn't mind a slight reduction, possibly with some way of compensating after (Sprint mode for Athletics, Power Jump for Acrobatics).

You probably will have godlike abilities, but even if we did not have godlike abilities I'd be perfectly happy with that. Of couse I still want to feel like my character is powerful.

While i want my character to be as badassed as a warrior can get, i dont want him to be able to simply merc through every single dungeon and enemy in-game. your character can still be very powerful, and even blast right through certain enemies. But he should still come across enemies/dungeons/situations that are a challange or a match for him/her.
