Is anyone else worried that you wont be able to have godlike abilitys?

i mean where you have stuff like speed, acrobatics, atletics and movement associated skills above 100 and only be able to jump, like 3 feet whereas in oblivion when you could be buffed out,you could jump like 20 feet as if you were godlike, most people who have had a level 40+ character probly know what i mean. but basically, you'll only be able to jump or run normally even if you have that skill maxed, in an attempt to "make it more realistic".

You need to re-word this question.

This :icecream:

And there will be ways to exploit the system for god powers... Permanent enchant glitch in Oblivion and well, alchemy and soultrap + effect in Morrowind.

Not to mention if the console commands are still there, all someone will have to type is "tgm" again and instant god-like abilities. Simple exploit of the system, not that I ever used it, but....

I like it when I am rewarded for spending a long time with one character.
On Oblivion when Im level 25 or so Ive usually put in about 150 hours. I like it that by then I know really powerful spells, have gathered some nifty artefacts and explored most of the map.
I dont like that goblins dont become easier to kill.

But Skyrim will have fixed that problem, with its new version of level scaling.

I hope that its the kind of game where I really feel rewarded for being a high level, and I think I will not be dissapointed.

Apparently there are people who are worried about this. I am not one of them.

Until I see evidence to the contrary, I will assume that whatever abilities we have will be designed to give us an enjoyable experience. Granted, "enjoyable experience" is extremely subjective, but for me, "godlike abilities" are not a requirement. This is why I am not worried.

That's cheating.

No I'm really hoping that we won't have godlike abilities, as the game would become extremely boring.

If I wanted godlike abilities I would type "TGM" in the console.

As soon as you achieve something like "god-like" abilities the game is over, at least for that character because after that there are no challenges and no more fun. I hope it takes right to the end of all of the main quest lines to reach the level cap. If they can achieve that then I think everyone would enjoy the game.

Me neither. You′ll probably see the difference in acrobatics and athletics but it won′t be as significant as tes4. Jumping 40 meters looks goofy

Acrobatics are removed so yeah, no more frog leaping everywhere (Which was a horrible gameplay element/stat to begin with. Wanted it removed since Morrowind)

I don't understand how this would be a bad thing. If anything I think we need less power.

I guess that depends on your definition of "godlike" in regard to abilities, doesn't it? Slow-motion "bullet time" brought on by a shout sounds pretty powerful to me- but maybe I'm unique in thinking the ability to mess with how fast time moves is "godlike?"

I really don't care to be honest. I mean I'd love the game to be as balanced as possible, but a little godlike power is fun every now and again.

I'd say just make it hard to attain.

Honestly, as long as we don't have something along the lines of "Press V to GOD!!!!!" (what VATS does), I won't care either way.

I actually hope that there won't be any Godlike ability even when you are all maxed , I also think that you shouldn't be able to max all stats according to the path you pick it shoudl becomemore and more difficoult to rise a stats beyond a certain level ....

i think the option to achieve some sort of near-invincibility should be available for the players, it is single-player after all

Technically there'll probably be no way to stop you if you really want to be very powerful or perfect.

I mean even in New Vegas you can honestly make a perfect character fairly easily and quickly if you want to.

Open world RPGs should always allow freedom even if against others wants.

Of coarse in the same vein there has to be a way to make things matter for those who want a unique experience without feeling overpowerful or having individual skills not matter much.

The best platform to buy a game to tailor to yourself is on the PC.

Now as to why they changed that. It's because it was fairly silly, fantasy or no fantasy. Again if you really want stuff like that it's easily found in what I presume will be a thriving Mod community on the PC version of Skyrim.

As for consoles, you'll have to hope for an epic glitch that gives you such an epic jump Kangaroo Jack will cry his heart out in shame.

Why in the world would you want god-like abilities? It does nothing but kill the game. Except when you have done everything possible and you want to get a mod to just own everything. But not in the initial game, leave it to mods. There will be a god like weapon available within an hour of release, I'll bet anything.
