Anyone ever married Sylgja?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 8:50 am

So my character is level 10. I've only do the College of Winterhold questline. No main quest or civil war quest, TG, DB, BC or anything. At least not yet. he is just exploring and learning more about magic. He was wandering about and found himself in the Rift. He stumbled upon Shor's Stone and met Sylgja.

She is not anything fancy. A miner, I think. This is perfect for the character- no warrior or mage or thief or anything.

Is Sylgja a good ... wife? I mean, is there any draw backs to her? Other than her being in a small mining town?

She can be married, and while she doesn't have any special perks she may have her own house.

Also, her mother can be hired as a follower.

I've married Muiri on one character and Sylgja on another. They both seem to act the same and I'm pretty sure are voiced by the same person. I'm not sure about any of the other wives, but Sylgja is pleasant and sweet. She does have a 'named' house in Shor's Stone which I assume you can move into. I've done her quest on my 'other' character and I can take most things in her house without it being stealing so I'm assuming you can move into her house if you marry her.

You can move in. She lives in a great home and she is sweet and easy on the eyes.

I did with one of my characters and she sent a hit squad after me. I was pretty low level and they almost got the better of me so I was pretty ticked. I used to love her but had to kill her.

The moral of the story? Watch what you take from her house after you marry.

Oh and technically you don't hire her mother, Anneke Crag-Jumper, but you have to do a quest for her. She will send you to one of two caves both with pretty high leveled bandit bosses you have to kill.

If you are in to weird kinkiness though, it can be fun to take Anneke who is one fine MILF back to Sylgia's and all three of you pile into bed together....

When it came time to marry my one and only Skyrim character, I looked long and hard at my options. Some gals looked decent, so I would pay them a visit in the game. I found Sylgja to be the best looker of the group, even better with a bit of modding to change her clothes, as she continues to wear her mining outfit + pickaxe if you leave her be. Indeed her voice is sweet and she always says nice things (probably the same thing every other spouse says), but I do not regret for one instant the matrimonial vows which I pledged to her.

I'd prefer if her attire changed after marriage instead of permanent miner's clothes.

Also, for Sylgia, if you stay at her house, be sure to keep that mine cleared of spiders. Do not go into the mine during the day when miners (including Sylgia) are there. At first, you'll find them peacefully mining with the spiders right beside them. When the spiders detect your character or you attack the spiders, all of them will go hostile and will start attacking you and the miners. Sylgia and the other miners could end up dead. I learned the hard way and got in the habit of periodically clearing the mine at night.

My character ended up marrying her. This was after helping her, her mine, her parents and a few members of their community. I liked the small communities they lived in. I figured why not? We will see how it goes.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to take nothing from her home. My place is a bit bigger- arch mage's quarters. We'll see if/when/where I buy a home.

The only drawback is the fact that she only wears that mining gear unless you mod her like I did. I also like using her mother as a Follower.

I married her and we moved over to the place in the Rift. It has a nice balcony overlooking the lake. I thought she would clean up a little and remove that pick from her belt after we got married.

If you reverse pickpocket a better weapon she'll wear it instead.

She's the first character I married, for many of the same reasons listed above- sweet voice, nice to look at- though we moved to Proudspire rather than her house.

After I started to get bored with the same dialog over and over, I decided to spice up our relationship and show her what "off on some adventure, I bet," means.

On separate playthroughs I've married Ysolda, Miuri, Sylgja and Senna.
It seems only Senna has a different voice actor and dialog. All of them open a store and give you gold, a trading partner and home cooking. Sometimes there is trouble getting the lover's comfort perk. I think you have to move in to her house, then back to yours to get it to work.

Indeed, the voice actress for Senna only voices only potential wife aka Senna. But because of it, you can use the console to marry Eola, Vivienne Onis, etc. but they'll all have the same personality. AKA nag nag nag.

Yep. The best we can do on consoles (so far, anyway) is pickpocket their main garment off of them so they walk around in their underwear. If you do this make sure you leave their shoes/boots on them or they will respawn their original clothing.

Now, I've heard that they will respawn their clothing if you take it all. The only thing I know for sure is that they will stay in their underwear if you leave their footwear on them - several ingame weeks so far.
