Anyone excited for...

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:39 am

There are going to be a lot of games that will be released in 2011. What games are you excited for or updates for games already released? I'm excited for Portal 2. Portal was great, a bit tedious, but overall it was a fantastic game. I read that Valve made Portal at the last minute or something, so imagine if Portal was great when they did it in a rush, how Portal 2 will be.

Not'a'one.

I'm barely interested in Skyrim, on the tertiary outskirts of my mind, and that's one of the biggest things on the radar.

Not'a'one.

Also none. Having no recent consoles and an out of date computer makes it a rather unfulfilling effort to follow what games are coming out anyway.

Skyrim

That's pretty much it right now. I'm still playing games that I've owned for years. ;)

Portal was like a tiny little test. They were playing with puzzle games and decided it couldn't hurt to just throw it into the Orange Box and let Half-Life/Team Fortress fans mess around with it a bit. They absolutely had no plans to make Portal 2, nor did they expect Portal to be popular at all. Surprise, Valve! Simple is sucessful. Time to put the kid's hobby kit away and whip out the man's tools to build an awesome game.

I'm only really excited for Brink. Well, Battlefield 3 should be cool too, but those two are the only games I know of coming out this year that I'm interested in.

The Witcher 2 and Risen 2 (assuming it manages a 2011 release). Everything else is firmly in "wait and see" territory.

Although I'm going to wait for several of them until their price drops, I'm looking forward to Portal 2, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim (probably at full price), Guild Wars 2 especially though it seem more likely to come out in 2012, Dungeon Siege III, Max Payne 3, Deus Ex HR, maybe the Witcher 2 . . . . There are a lot of games coming out. I'm going to buy Dragon Age 2, though I've backed off from paying full price at this point.

Too bad the Wii is region locked. Otherwise I would buy Xenoblade too.

If we don't hear anything before Xenoblade's PAL release then I plan on grabbing a used PAL Wii from someone I know. I will have my Xenoblade dammit.

Of course, there are other ways, but....

For this year, I'm looking forward to Skyrim and have my eye on Dark Souls, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and RAGE. I also have a couple of games coming out next year on my mind and they are Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Bah, this. All I have to look forward to anymore are old (yet still great) PC games, as well as all of the PS2 titles I've always loved. I hope to soon change this situation, but until I'm finally hired for work, I'm stuck wishing I even had the systems to anticipate the respective games for.

I am, however, highly interested in how Skyrim and Deus Ex 3 turn out. There are also a few PSP and DS games that have caught my attention, though I may hesitate to buy handheld systems with just one or two games I'm prepared to get for each.
