Is anyone going to buy the Ultimate Edition and test issues

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 11:42 am

Does the ultimate edition have new trophies or does it just award the same ones from regular New Vegas?

It still uses the same ones from the regular version. If you got it in the regular version then it will still be unlocked in the Ultimate Edition.

It won't make you collect them all again.

Just did the My Kind of Town quest on UE. Nash and towns people still stuck in casino after finishing the quest.

Worse lag I dealt with was the Tops, and the leaving the sink in Old World Blues. If there's no lag there I'm going to pick up a copy.

And an update to these:
1. That issue didn't even really come up for me while testing. It might still do it occasionally but I never found Nash to be all that worth-while a vendor anyways.

2. I've played around 4 hours of Old World Blues and did not get any lag leaving The Sink.

Good luck with it. I hope it'll work out any issues you've had.

Yesterday I saw copies of the ultimate edition at the huge supermarket we've got here. I picked up a copy and then had a second thought. I came here, read few topics about it and decided that perhaps it will stay at the supermarket.

Whats the best DLC on FNV on ps3? I'm thinking of downloading form PSN old world blues. Does it have bugs and cause freezes?

I got the first 3, and OWB was the buggiest. constant freezes. Dead Money was also buggy and not fun. Honest Hearts played the best for me. I wouldn't recommend any of them though, because OWB was buggy, and it also made the other parts of the map buggy/freezes/lockups.

OWB ran fine on my PS3, and Lonesome Road ran fantastic. Idk about the rest.

As far as downloading them in DLC form from PSN.

Everything was moderetly okay in terms of framerate with the exception of Lonesome Road.
I could NOT get past Hopeville without massive issues with framerate.

The Ultimate Edition thankfully did not repeat that.

Oh also, I'm still pretty busy right now with other things.
I'll see if I can't report more on Monday, if not later in the upcoming week.

Great thread, thanks for all the info! I got a sudden rush to start playing New Vegas again. My laptop isn't exactly the greatest thing in the world, so I think I'm going to pick up the Ultimate Edition for the PS3. Good to see you're not having a lot of issues. From what I've read most of the issues have been with people having a copy of vanilla NV with some DLC.
I'll definitely pick it up whenever I finish Skyward Sword, plus it's only ~$25, which is a damn good price for all the DLC + the game itself.

Did you guys start new games? I'm still having alot of freezing issues, really early in the game. Granted it is from previous saves. I'm going to try and start a new character.

I never been played New Vegas in no one edition, its my first time i play this game in my PS3 and i purchase this game because i read this is similar to Skyrim with other enviroment, ive played 6 hours and no freezeng, lag or bugs to report, all the DLC loaded ok in the start of the game, in few words no problems related to frecuently issues in previous versions

I started from scratch. Using no previous saves and with all of the old game, DLC data, and saves deleted.

What are the size of your game files now? With regular version and downloaded DLC's my issues really didn't pop up until file size was over 8mb and going to the strip. hadn't started any of the DLC's at that point.

The ultimate edition ain't nothing but all patches and DLC included in one install. All bugs and problems of the previous release will be persistent. You can hope on patches or use the "guidelines" in this forum, either way I won't count on anything really helpful.

@Loonafication Thanks testing the product and keep us posted. I've been following your reports along with the complaints about the ultimate edition on Gamefaq. It's a toss up since some people report the ultimate edition to work fine while others report it to work terrible. I'll be picking up a copy of the ultimate edition soon hopefully things run fine for me.

No problem. At this point there's really nothing else I can test. At least with any problems I was having. Hope it runs okay for you.

So I guess here's my final assesment:

Yellow: An equal number have reported improvements and no improvements.
Buy at your own risk. Results may vary.

Tips:
-If you're purchasing Ultimate Edition. I would strongly advise deleting everything from the old version of New Vegas.
Saves, data files, DLC's, everything.

As painful as that might be, it's a pretty good jumping off point for an accruate assesemant of any improvements of the Ultimate Edition.

DO NOT BUY.

I have had nothing but problems playing this with the constant low frame rate and crashes.
It's funny because my ps3 it a month old. I was holding off for the complete collection, hoping it would fix things, but it has not. I have not even started on the dlc, so I have no idea if they will work well.

Garbage software, I'm returning to amazon. 20 minutes into the Dead Horses quest and unplayable framerate of 2fps

I bought UE because I already had the PS3 version of NV, mistake.

My PS3 is perfect btw, new model, slim with SSD

I was going to get the Ultimate Edition this weekend. Should I? I played through the game when it launched in 2010 and didn't have any lag. I did have some freezing though.
