Last year I had a great time dropping my big project for a while and making a small, self-contained quest mod for Darkelfguy's brilliant modathon. This year, I was thinking of doing something similar, except I quickly realised that those pesky Real Life commitments just don't leave me enough time to make anything worthwhile on my own. But who said I had to make something all on my own?
So, this is a call for anyone who would be interested in co-authoring a small but hopefully atmospheric, open-ended quest mod with me! To be clear, I am not just looking for someone to do my work for me. While I have a basic concept which I'd like to explore, the story, characters, structure etc. are very much open, and ideally everyone/anyone involved would work out where those characters and stories went together.
As for the "what's it about?", I don't want to spoil too much, but the basic idea is that the quest mod would be set after the main quest. Remember how you were hailed as protector of Vvardenfell after the events of Red Mountain? How it was implied that people would continue to look to you for protection in troubling times to come? Well, no such future troubles really eventuated, did they? Yes, there were still monsters to hunt, politics to meddle in and places to explore, but on the large scale, the business of protecting Vvardenfell finished with the end of the Blight (unless you use quest mods... but you get the point!).
So this mod, if it ever comes to be, will add a new trouble which comes after the time of Dagoth Ur. It won't be a grand, apocalyptic crisis, but it will be worrying. Something is happening, and people are scared. They don't know what to do. They will turn to you for help. But is this a brand new threat, or merely the newest face of an old one?
... anyway. If you are interested, please let me know and I will write a more detailed thing about my basic ideas for the mod! I just want to stress, it's ok if no one is interested! This isn't a desperate plea. At some point in my life, I will have time. I think this will get done. Just thought I'd throw it out there!
