Anyone know of a way to find a lost companion?

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 6:57 pm

I was traveling near Cottonwood Cove with Boone and I think I went to far ahead of him and now I can't find him anywhere. He doesn't appear when I fast travel, I waited around the general area he got lost in for about an hour real time and still nothing. I still have his perk, but he's filling up a companion space I need for someone who is ACTUALLY there. Anyone know how I can find him or kick him out without him present? I have the 360 version.

Not sure, but I sleep a hour and they spawn next to me when I lose them.

Yeah, that hasn't worked either. I hope he didn't glitch into the ground somehow. I'm stuck in the middle of the game until it's patched anyways, but now I can't work on that companion achievement.

Anyone know if Kill/resurrecting NPC's ruins their personal quest line (like I'm guessing it might?)

If you're playing on the PC, the console is opened by hitting the ~ (or ') key. If you're on a console, you're out of luck.

Yeah, I'm on 360...I guess I have to wait for the patch. I knew I should of waited to buy the game with Obsidian's track record of glitchiness.

I wish. Nothing I can do on my PC opens up the console. I did not use console a lot in FO3, but it was helpful. Looks like I am the only one who cannot get it that mode for FONV. :cryvaultboy:

You might have told the companion to wait somewhere. Or accidentally told him/her/it to wait. Happened to me then I thought of the last place I saw Rex and went to the Lucky 38, and I had accidentally told em' to wait.

Just recall what The King told you. Rex forgets himself sometimes due to his faulty brain. So often you will find him just sitting down. This does not appear to be a bug. You just have to go to him and tell him to follow you again (or STAY, then FOLLOW ME). Works everytime! :vaultboy:

What is driving me crazy now is I have dismissed Rex (he is at the Lucky 38) and I try to get another follower and that follower (the gal at the NRC mohave outpost) says I 'have one too many followers'. I think I have (had) a doctor as a brief follower from the Mormon fort and I can't find him to see if he is even dismissable. He showed up outside the airport tower once when I was on a quest all acting like a follower with the circular dialogs, etc. even tho I had Rex there. Buggie or what? So I think the gal thinks he is with me when he is not. Grr...! :stare:
