I'm really missing the look of the old scribe and elder robes. Despite them lacking any damage resistance, I always worse them as I felt they looked awesome on my characters.

However, the new scribe robes looks so... unnecessarily heavy. For instance, the science scribes and the variants I'm talking about are the ones that have the weird metals contraption around their neck.

What is the point? You're doing research? Why do you need some heavy metal contraption on your neck constantly?

The Field Scribe armor makes sense as you wouldn't be wearing robes around when conducting combat missions.

But still, I miss the old scribe robes.

Plus the elder robes are entirely missing from the game

Nah man, the battle coat and field Scribe robes are all we need. Especially the battle coat, did I mention I love the battle coat?

Elder Robes/Armor is gain-able if you are an enemy of the Brotherhood but able to fast-travel to their ship... You can then kill Elder Maxson and loot his Elder stuff.

Yes it was a cool look for a melee/monk build.

The armor and uniforms were better in FNOV. But at least now I can don heavy combat armor, Bethesda gives me the tools to properly role-play as the Michelin Man.

Those aren't elder robes. That's a battlecoat. I'm talking about the robes you could obtain in previous games...
