Anyone not playing?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 6:14 am

I'm pretty angry at ppl who are whining about not getting to play it like for a day or two after it's released. I've willingly delayed my first Skyrim experience to christmas, and therefore I'm gonna endure it no matter what, and try to avoid visiting this forum for over a month. It's not going to be easy, but I can only blame myself for that. At least there are propably some mods out there to download around christmas if the attempt to make my female dunmer beautiful looks hopeless

I have the game but am not playing right now. :P Nor was I when it unlocked in the middle of the night, because I was sleeping. I'm also not sure how much time I'll be able to put in the rest of the day.

I played for a little bit. But I'm too depressed to play now. My grandma is dying.

I feel so sorry for you.

But there is quite a difference between making a choice to wait until Christmas and paying extra money for something to arrive on a certain day only for it to arrive a few days later.

I actually managed to eff up my computer yesterday while cleaning it, an hour before skyrim was unlocked.. So yeah, on my laptop now and just finished ordering a brand new computer for ~$1000, it was time for an upgrade anyhow, seeing as I had mine for 5 years. Admittedly it's still very agonizing not being able to play the game which I waited so long for..

Ordered mine from Gamestop. Guess they didn't work last night - no update on shipping yet. I also ordered it on 3-day delivery, so should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.

Meanwhile, back to D2/LOD mod I've been playing to keep busy.

I have Skyrim on preorder from Gamelane in Australia. They have been saying that they cannot post it until the 14th but now they sent me an email that it might be the 18th, which means I wont get it till the 21st. I am thinking of cancelling and going out and buying it in the morning, even though this will cost me at least $19 more over my pre-order discount, although I will phone to reserve a copy before going in as it can cost me a bundle in public transport as well to get it this way (up to $30 for each attempt as I am disabled and often need to use Taxis). Oh, and Gamelane claims that Bethesda is responsible as the EU PC version is what I had ordered and they claim that the release date is pushed back, for which I can find absolutely no evidence anywhere online and plenty of evidence that this is just wrong. JB HiFi has been selling a PC version for two days now apparently, and I know of people in Europe who are playing the PC version. I got Oblivion at the midnight release, but its proving hard to get Skyrim - its infuriating.

I'm in Europe and me too haven't got Skyrim and the stores told me the PC version of the game will come 1 or 2 weeks later.

Royal Fail have failed again, one day delivery has become two. Amazon have had an ear bending over this, as it's simply not good enough. Why do they insist on using such a rubbish company, when a courier would get it here on time?

I won't be getting it until December or so. On the bright side, I won't have to experience most of the early glitches and bugs.

Unfortunatly I'm at work this morning. I won't get the game until at least 5:30 pm. I then need to pick up dinner, go home and eat and then I'll play. It'll be 6:00 pm or later before I start playing.

Oh well, such is life.

Not playing yet because I am celebrating my Anniversary. Trust me, ma definitely is more fun than Skyrim son. Feels almost blasphemous to say it, but pushing her buttons is much more gratifying.

I couldn't go to the midnight release, so I'm just sitting around, waiting for Gamestop to open. I'm off work today though, so at least I'll have all day to play after that.

I prefer to wait a bit before buying. I dedicate myself to read people's opinions first. Although it looks like the guys at Bethesda have done it again. These screenshots are a delight for the eyes.

I feel your pain. 12 hour shift started 2 hours ago. Go pick the game up, eat and go to bed. Gotta spend the day doing drill/ceremony practice, and a 0400 fun run w/my recruiters. So, about 1400 tomorrow I should be able to start up the game. -_-
