Anyone not playing?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 9:02 pm

I would be playing but my main PC decided to do fart-dance all over me the last 5 hours so I'm doing some enforced techy stuff. Almost done....

It's 11:00 PM here in California, and my PC copy will be arriving sometime tomorrow. Trying to avoid as many spoilers/videos as possible, but some are just too tempting.

Couldn't go to midnight release because I had work early this morning, which is now finished. GameStop doesn't open for 2 more hours, fml.

Yeah! Come on, Steam! Download the game already! Also, it seems a little ridiculous that you HAVE to download it despite having the disc. :brokencomputer:

I bought an collector's edition from the midnight opening which was the biggest impulse purchase that I've made for some time.
What makes this strange is that I've barely read anything about the game before 2 days ago and I've only seen a couple of gameplay videos. But there I was with hundreds of other people, queueing in the freezing cold. I was most probably the only one who was a total TES noob out there, if not then at least the only TES noob who bought the collector's edition! Well so far I'm happy with my birthday present for MYSELF lol.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the game/creators since I've never spent a single € on Bethesda stuff (not that I'm aware of at least). I've played Oblivion for a couple hours on the Xbox 360 which was borrowed off my friend, and I've tried getting into Fallout 3 too but I didn't manage to clock in more then a few hours there either.
I've always WANTED to like these games, and gosh, what the hell am I gonna do if I don't like Skyrim now that I've spent 130€ on it? :D

I went to bed right after I got home at 2:30am, woke up for work at 6:45am and I won't have time to get on my computer until tomorrow (saturday) when I'll have time to play for a couple hours. So yeah...

I'm on PC and the game suggests that I play on High settings. That gave me 8-10 FPS. Bare minimum settings get me around 12 FPS. Someone gave a potential solution to it earlier, but it didn't work for me or I messed it up.

Still 12 FPS.

7%, sigh. There's gotta be something I could do for awhile while it downloads. Also, I just read something about how to install the game using the disc, but didn't quite understand the directions. :banghead:
