Compared to the rest of the world the rating system in USA seems to tolerate much more bloodshed and gore while sixual references and partial nudity are considered highly offensive. It feels like the censors are trying to say: "OK, you can kill each other, as long as you remain decently dressed." <_<

I notice the large lack of sixual content in anything. Fallout 3, a jar of peanut butter, you name it.
(yes it's been a while)

But neither Fallout 3 nor the jar of peanut butter had a naked girl in the advertising, so I didn't get my hopes up to begin with.

:lmao:

I didn't expect sixual content so I didn't really notice a huge lack of it. I did think there might be a relationship for the LW to pursue given the early moments of the game but we all know how that turned out.

I sure don't mind. There's other places on your computer where six content can be viewed on-demand ( such as internet explorer and a subscription to a girlie site). Or, even a playboy magazine subscription can cover it.

Pay for it?!
What is this, 2001?

I was quite underwhelmed too, there's a single prosttute in the game (unless I'm mistaken). Not cool.

Yes, pay for it. Subscriptions to sites which produce the content regularly, instead of watching stuff that was saved at 10 FPS off of those sites and distributed illegally? Just like video games like Fallout 3, advlt content is merchandise and as such, is purchased.

Fallout 2 did not have overwhelming, explicit sixual garbage. I'm glad Fallout 3 did not either. It would have been one heck of an insult to the game, if it felt the need to do that.

That's irrelevant. If I wanna watch porm I'll go to pormhub... My problem is that Fallout is supposed to be a realistic representation of how things would be. If you think six, prostitution and every deviant thing imaginable wouldn't be a part of daily life then you're just kidding yourself. Its human nature and it would be everywhere. The lack of this in Fallout 3 makes it a little less immersive, IMO.

Seriously? But the fact that you can make someones head explode with your fist is ok? I really don't understand why extreme violence isn't considered "garbage" but sixual content is... Well, I'll retract that statement because I do understand why its this way in America, but its simply ridiculous.

puratianol beliefs that six is wrong... and not a natural thing.

Kinda like the faith that preaching abstinence will make kids not have six... never mind it doesn't work

It's a bit like that here, from what I've heard/read of some games I think I'll move to Europe where they don't seem so prudish and close-minded.

Do both of you live in 2001?

High quality pormography is widely available for on demand streaming on a huge number of sites covering virtually every fetish imaginable. Feel the urge to watch lisbian clown porm? No problem! (although I'm not going to provide a link!)
If you feel some urgent moral need to pay for it, feel free, however stating that stuff available for free is only low-res terrible dross is straight-up untrue.

Back on topic, you're completely wrong. F2's first town (Arroyo aside), Klamath, featured a "bath house" where the player could buy, uh, "company". Many other places offered similar services. Then there was the minor collection quest for ten issues of Cat's Paw (a gentleman's magazine..).
Oh, are we forgetting the work available to the player in New Reno in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Golden_Globes?

What's so scary about sixual content?
Oh no, naked people, well, that's us going to hell.

think about what you just said. How well do you think Fallout 3 would have sold if it was actually an accurate representation? The average age of the gamer may be 35, but only a fraction of them dont have morals. many of them have families too, and last time i checked, porm didnt go over too well w/ the spouse. Imagine if one of their kids happened across it. "Mommy, what are they doing?" Try explaining that to a kid. If anything, games w/ lots of sixual content sell less than those that have hardly any.

that, and bethesda is trying to caiter to a wide audience of gamers. Adding sixual content constricts that circle. :grad:

Yes I know about that content. You could even pay to have your followers have six with one of the prosttutes. None of it was graphic, or in-my-face, or resembled playboy being rendered in 3d on my computer. It was groups of half-distinguishable pixelated forms doing the talking, the graphics were not detailed - not like what it would have needed to be in Fallout 3. I thought the scenes were funny in Fallout 2, they didn't strike me as explicit.

There seem to be so many Fallout 3 mods out there where people have six-slave followers who look the part, or there's one that turns raiders into .. ah forget it.. I just think that stuff is unnecessary and I'm glad they didn't release the game like that. I appreciate that Fallout 3 left the most detailed of the six stuff to your imagination instead of rendering it for me or pushing it in my face.

Nudity ingame? fine. Parital nudity? thats fine too, But i certainly don't need any other sixual content in my game. If i want to see something like that... well that's what a dvd player or the internet is for. Sadly, there are mods that do just this out there. There are certainly people out there that like that sort of thing in their game, I am not one of them.

I don't think sixual content would have been necessary, but a bit of romance couldn't hurt. Beth could have took a leaf out of Biowares book, or whichever company created fable.

I stand by what I said. I'm not saying I want interactive hardcoe six in the game, but the lack of nudity, partial nudity, etc. is disappointing. Also I have a spouse and I have a 3 year old. I don't play Fallout or similar games when my daughter is in the room because of the language and violence. I don't want her exposed to me sniping someone in the face and watching their brains explode all over the waste. Just like I don't watch R rated movies when she is present. Fallout is an advlt game and I don't see how any responsible parent would allow their children to play or watch it. With or without any additional sixual content.

Honestly what it comes down to is that video games are considered to be for children by most of the general public. So they don't include six/nudity because they don't want to be seen as promoting that to children. But whats really messed up is that the violence and bad language are ok. When, in my opinion, they are much much worse.
