So I had a quick look at the new wallpaper and immediately saw a slight error in the top left-hand corner of the image. If you look carefully, you can see that a portion of the fog / galaxy cuts cleanly off along a straight line into black. Looks pretty bad.

After noticing that, though, I decided to see if I could find anything else in the image. Take a look at the mist / fog to the right of the character - is it just me, or are those creatures in the fog? I asked a friend who agreed that it definitely looked like the shape of some kind of creature, repeated twice.

So what do you think they are, if anything? Am I seeing things that aren't there?

Hmmm, not sure about them being creatures, my first thought was that it was the wall we'd seen before. Didn't notice anything until you pointed it out though.

going from left to right:

1: I don't see anything special.
2: I honestly don't know.
3: It looks like something's there.

Maybe it's the soul of the Dragon?

I'd say it's just the human brain and it's way of wanting to make recognizable shapes/things. *Looks at all the English lyrics we thought were in the teaser trailer. Oh wait that was dragon language*

I agree. At first sight I thought it was definitely just the mist, but when I tried to see it as a creature I saw it as a creature. I still think it's just the mist.

Well, I only saw it for the first time today but I saw the pattern almost instantly. Didn't take hours of scrutinizing or whatever, just seemed fairly obvious which led me to think there might be some significance.

Anyway, I think you're probably right that it is nothing. Just thought I'd share.

It′s the same effect that lets people see Jesus in toast and satanic messages in songs played backwards, there is nothing to see there because there is nothing wrong with this picture, nothing at all.

Edit: There is a dragon tail but seeing dragons in the fog is still pushing it, it doesn′t look anything like a dragon to me, just fog.

I does look like a dragon's head silhouetted in the fog.

As for the error well, I guess that's what happens when we put so much pressure on them to give, give, give.

I'm not disagreeing with you. It's very easy to see patterns in anything, but the fact it was repeated so obviously caught my eye.

Also, there is something wrong - that annoying cutoff line in the top left corner. Bah!

I think you're just looking into this a little too closely. I honestly do not for the life of me see anything in the upper left corner of the screen, I don't know what kind of super duper high def Xray monitor you have, but there is nothing there that I can see on my 1900x1200 HD monitor. And the things on the right just look like an effect that was copy pasted to make a "roll" effect for the mist. Nothing special. :shrug:

The line is very clear to me. I would suggest your brightness is lower than mine or perhaps your contrast.

I don't have photoshop on this computer so I can't point it out particularly well, but to be more descriptive: there's an isolated part of fog, or what may perhaps be a cluster of stars in the sky, which looks as though it should be larger than it is and cuts off down a perfectly straight line into darkness. I noticed it as soon as I opened the picture.

Also I would generally agree with the idea of a certain brush being used to create the mist effect, but the fact it was so obvious to me made me think otherwise.

I also just checked the different versions of the wallpaper, including the 1900x1200, and can confirm that the line is there on those as well.

Yes there definitely is a part that is cut off in a straight line on the upper left corner and I agree that its pretty obvious. However I don't think that the two mist shapes represent two creatures. It actually looks like the two spots on the right that you pointed out are joints for wings and the patch of mist just above and between them looks like a head of a horse or dragon. But this is probably just the human mind following gestalt principles and completing shapes, whether they are meant to be there or not
