Anyone planning to play perkless?

Yeah, I'll try it eventually. Not sure why everyone is being so hostile about it.

I personally won't. What I want to know, is why everyone in here is being such arseholes? Really guys? It was an innocent thread. Get the collective sticks out of your collective asses.

Edit: Well not all of you were being unnecessarily mean, but a lot of people where. A lot more than I would have expected.

I don't think so. I can still use a blade expertly without perks.

I guess the game would then become really interesting, because it gets even harder.

@Orion 85: No, you did not troll anyone, they just thought it would be cool to gang up on the one with the "strange" idea. Probably a mass inferiority complex or something. They just can't stand the thought that not everyone is super hyped for this "super awesome perks"...

Tell you what, I'll hijack your thread and ask this:

Does anyone plan on playing a character WITHOUT using the shouts?

People really are struggling for thread ideas now.

I hadn't thought of doing that, but now that you mention it, yes. Definitely not on my first playthrough. These types of challenges appeal to me. I beat DE:HR without any augs on the hardest difficulty.

And one who can think for himself does not hide behind overused phrases... If you have nothing to say to the matter of the thread - don't post in it.

Unlike apparently everyone else I can actually see the appeal of doing that for the challenge, it's not a stupid idea.

I'm glad you don't have to pick a perk when you level because i will try to avoid the ones I think are too powerful or don't make sense (by that I mean don't effect me or my abilities but the outside world instead, like the one that gives more gold for merchants to trade with). But I'll certainly pick the crafting ones and things of that nature.

No, but I will play with the difficulty turned all the way up and try and use perks to overcome that difficulty.

This is really how I look at perks and levelling up. It's not about making myself super powerful and awesome, it's about overcoming the games difficulty. So if the game is difficult then it's rewarding to level up and be awarded perks. If it's not then levelling up and perks will be meaningless to me, because I'm not at allinterested in becomming super powerful. Just powerful enough.

There were what.. 2 posts that were disrespectful of the OP. The rest were people simply saying they won't and my joke post which was clearly noted as such with the emoticon and would fit in any "hardcoe mode" thread. So no need to paint the rest with big brushes for what very few did.

Dependent on the perk. No way would I not take one that lets me use a shield bash or at least some other attack I can trigger on my own.

Do I plan on ignoring one of the biggest things that makes this a roleplaying game?

I think that perk is meant to show that you are able to persuade merchants to purchase greater quantities of loot from you. It is supposed to represent how the merchants are willing to do more business with you than the average 'adventurer'. I suppose that since the game is single player I would not be able to tell the difference. Especially since my avatar is the only person selling stuff to vendors within the game world.

Some if not many of the features will be useless or weak without the perks.

so being some weak urchin with no special abilities? yeah not doing that. :shakehead:

wow... this is just...
wow

NO

That sounds... AWFUL. I think the game would start get boring really quickly without perks(2 or 3 hours in). You'd just be spamming the same move over and over again.

You have my vote for the dumbest thread to date....
