Anyone planning to play perkless?

Post » Mon Oct 10, 2011 7:03 pm

So I've seen a lot of talk about people playing games in their own style of hardcoe mode (Iron man mode, one weapon one shield mode....) and we all know it's been said that every time you level up you pick 10 points to add to either health, magicka or stamina. However, I was wondering if anyone out there is planning on playing the game without picking a single perk since you can choose to not pick one when leveling up.

No. I see no reason to handicap myself plus, I want to be able to craft weapons/armor and I need those perks at the least.

That sounds... AWFUL. I think the game would start get boring really quickly without perks(2 or 3 hours in). You'd just be spamming the same move over and over again.

I'm a fan of playing hardcoe in this sort of game, but perkless isn't hardcoe. It's just silly :P

It is a valid strategy to examine the effect of perks, and if they are so strong to really make a difference (i don't think that anyone doubts this, but empirical evidence is always welcome). Also, if you want to become strong, you must choose all perks in a skill for it to really stand out, wich in essence means that they could also auto-pick perks for you, because you are going to pick them anyway :)

Edit: @JimmyDM90: Yeah, because this game is not about lore and storytelling but about telling your character 12 times for each skill that he now knows what he should know anyway from using that skill alone.

I guess I thought with all of the people out there playing FO3, FO:NV and OB in iron man modes etc. People were looking to make the game a bit harder for themselves, something you add to the game yourself that allows you to feel a little more accomplished when you finish it. I mean am I the only one who has played through an iron man challenge and gotten to the end and felt that much better about getting through the game?

No, but I will play with the difficulty turned all the way up and try and use perks to overcome that difficulty.

I think you are at least the only one in this thread not trying to ridicule foreign ideas. Makes me wonder what's wrong with the rest.

WOW! Lots of people upset with me.....sorry to ruin your day. I would like to point out that no one (including me) voted yes on the poll. I myself MIGHT do it I was just seeing if anyone else here had thought of this as a way to go through the game if even just once. Sorry again for my insensibility.

Would be funny if there was achivement like that  :ribbon:

I already saw few games with achivements of that kind and people that played with such self made rules so its nothing ridiculous...
