I'm still here. Just got playing a round of Oblivion for that matter.

Tomorrow however, Skyrim might start to phase in.

Not interested in a new game right now. I'm very happy with the one I have. Maybe in another year or two. :foodndrink:

Ohyea I'm still here. :) Ummm....I'm getting the Skyrim midnight release, gotta drive across town to GameStop, but I'm still here. Even though I'm getting Skyrim, I'm not abandoning OB because I like these forums. They're slower and more mature than the Sky forums. Much less flaming and whatnot.

I did something really silly tonight. Went to Trader Joes today and bought a carton of their chocolate espresso coffee beans. STarted eating them a couple hours ago. I'm playing Oblivion while eating them ...yummm....and I FORGOT about the coffee bean part, the chocolate tasted so good!

I think I ate about half the carton! I"m really zinging right now! Oy, I'm a little sick, too. :yuck: But I'm here.

Good luck! Glad I'm getting Skyrim delivered by Amazon tomorrow. I live in Virginia near Maryland, and it sounds like maybe it's best to stay off of the roads tonight :)

I'm still around. Unfortunately my PC isn't up to snuff so no Skyrim unless someone comes up with something like Oldblivion for it. Good thing I still get a bunch of enjoyment from Oblivion and Morrowind.

I couldn't care less about Skyrim at the moment. I have Oblivion and Morrowind, and tons of mods. I'll wait for the inevitable patches and reactions from friends whose opinions I trust, instead of 15-year-old reviewers who are hired to Be Positive About Everything. (Sorry, but I just read a review that showed zero information about the previous ES games, much less RPGs in general, and the reviewer loved everything, even "features" that remove things people enjoyed in earlier releases.) I don't need to buy a new machine, or buy a game that looks like a port. I'm happy with what I've got. :)

Not to say that others should change to my viewpoint--but hey, you asked a question.

Hello, is anyone out there? Come in please. CDQ, CDQ. Come in please. Radiation levels are rising here. Come in, please. Is anyone out there? CDQ. ……. Anyone remember the book, ‘Alas, Babylon’? Cool book from 50 years ago.

Yes, we’re still here, at least for a few more hours. Tonight, I’ve been off wandering around north and west of Anvil. Turned the grass off for a while (TG) and the place looked a bit like Morrowind. Collected a lot of loot, but must wait for the vendors to reset their inventories and gp before I can sell the stuff.

Tomorrow may bring something new, we’ll just wait and see what the forums say. I’ll be back to Oblivion shortly - got too many connections to abandon it now. I pretty much agree with Acadian, but I am still curious about Skyrim.

I don’t have a bicycle anymore to carry my computer to get it hooked up, but I might figure out a way if I try real hard.

PS: The eBook 'Alas, Babylon' can be found by a quick search.

Hee hee, any natural food store or Trader Joes should carry them. Theyre probably in regular grocery stores, too, but I'm not familiar with how it's done in teh UK, raceface. I"m not a big coffee drinker, though, so I hope I don't have to deal with teh dreaded caffeine "crash" like at 3 in the morning or something.
.
...man I'm zinging. This might not be good. Good thing I took off work tomorrow.

Good luck! Glad I'm getting Skyrim delivered by Amazon tomorrow. I live in Virginia near Maryland, and it sounds like maybe it's best to stay off of the roads tonight :)

I was thinking of having it delivered, but for me the trip to the game store has become almost a ritual. :) The anticipation. Standing in line, meeting other gamers. Love that part.

Okay. gotta get ready, see ya folks soon. :bolt:

Here I be.

I do have Skyrim pre-ordered but am in no hurry to pick it up. Played Oblivion some tonight and created a new set of Landscape LOD meshes. Alas, the new mesh set didn't fix my "land wall" near Fort Ash so I deleted 'em and reverted to my prior set. Too bad, coz they DID fix a partially floating building at Harlun's Watch. I'll prolly remake 'em tomorrow with only the Harlun's Watch fix in place (plus all my other fixes except Fort Ash of course).

I'm still here. Just because I'm in what-you-call-it doesn't mean I'm dead.

Now that my game came in the mail, I don't have to sift through all the kidddie temper tantrums next door. I just bookmark the important one.

i should have added that it is a 360 console (there's no way i could carry a pc on my back) my pc is 11 years old so no way that it will run skyrim on it (cannot run oblivion) so the 360 is the next best thing

Yipes! I was in that same position when Oblivion launched. My computer was ancient and far too outdated to upgrade. No way would it run the game. It was a darn good machine in its day, prolly the most rock-solid of all my computers. Never caused me a lick of trouble. I still have the thing, and used it as a secondary computer up until a year-and-a-half ago. Housed an ever-glorious GeForce4 Ti 4400 with a whopping 128mb video memory on-board. AGP bus of course...heh. I'm pretty sure it was not the GPU originally installed in the machine but a replacement bought some years down the line. Athlon T-bird 1300mhz CPU (upgrade from the original T-bird 900mhz). One gig ram (originally 512mb).

Funny thing is, I now have two computers easily capable of running Oblivion (and likely Skyrim) at high-to-maxed settings.

I don't mean to drag this off-topic. I mean, really, the topic is "are you still here?" and technically I am, so.

The game store was packed. I had no idea so many people would show up so early, and that there's so many folks into TES. None of them were my age, though! But the good news: Because I got my pre-order at a different store, I somehow wound up in a line which moved a lot faster. I only had 4 kids in front of me and BAM...I got my copy!

Wow. It's so different, almost like Morrowind has been described, in the sense that I had to really figure out how to get out of the early situation. The game held my hand, but barely, and I NEEDED it to hold my hand just a little because I coudn't figure out the beginning!

Not posting spoilers, but wow. I'm already loving this game. It will be easy for me to get back into Cyrodiil, though. Skyrim is really wayyy different than Oblivion, and I'm thinking I'm going to eventually miss the simplicity of Oblivion. Its menus are simpler, its gameplay is also simpler. "simpler" in a good way, because you can get in and out of Oblivion's menus, and the hotkey system in Oblivion also easier to use, makes combat so fluid.

..Basicaly: Digging Skyrim here and now, but I'm certainly not just tossing Oblivion aside. ;)

What's a Skyrim?

After doing online research I have determined that it's a hiking trail near the border between http://mtstandard.com/lifestyles/recreation/article_b472e45c-a5c0-11df-80df-001cc4c03286.html :hehe:

Patch it how? I've been gaming now for almost 4 hours. Other than a few minor hiccups, it's flawless. No freezes, no tearing, nothing.

The Radiant Story stuff is blowing me away, it's amazing. It's so human. Gameplay is much more fluid than Oblivion, too. Seriously, some of you guys have been waiting for someone who's not a "game reviewer" to tell you how it is. Well, I am doing so now. This game is amazing. It's like nothing I've ever played before.

I will still hang around Oblivion forums as I′m not interested in Skyrim. Cyrodiil still has much to offer my trusted elf and if I were to abandon him for Skyrim then... Well, lets just say I would get a powerful enemy

So if anyone is looking for me, they′ll probably find me either here or in the Morrowind forums :)

I bought Skyrim this morning (haven't had chance to play it yet though, I'm on a break in my lecture) but I'll still be sticking around here. I know stuff about Oblivion and like to help people and generally participate in the discussions. So you won't be getting rid of me that easily :foodndrink:

just wanted to say that i have just got back home.i did take my 360 with me in the end.by the gods skyrim is stunning  have only just been playing for around 15 minutes, but it really is a beautiful game to behold.there is also a great norse feel to the game (definitely influenced by viking/roman history).i won't say any more (as this is the oblivion forum  but i seriously would recommend the game to people (if they are sitting on the fence about whether to buy it or not).i might be gone for some time now
