Hell yes.
New vegas just has that.......feeling of greatness that Skyrim does not.

Yeah pretty much all skyrim has going for it is eyecandy. You can get almost the same effect with a modded NV. (Hi rez textures Enhanced shaders etc. etc.)

Frankly the questing in skyrim isn't very good an I've found a whole lot of it plain broken with quest entries forever staying in your journal, quest Items perm stuck in your inventories. Quest lines stupidly short and almost lol worthy in your status advancement. I'm going to run 3 characters and I think I'm going to drop it afterwards until the CK comes out then I'll come back after a while and see if they have any interesting mods out.

Indeed. Although, I'm not going to bother with mods, as they do not fix anything really fundamental (they're, imo, more like first aid than doctors care, slowing down the bleeding for a while but not healing the wound).

Skyrim, in my opinion, has a lot of good ideas, but the execution is just limp. The game gives very little incentive to go on, and I have trouble in keeping my interest up enough to finish it (I do intend to finish it at some point since I have the game, but not in a while it seems). There's just not enough motivation, as once one digs deeper than an ankle, there very little to be found anymore (the what appears to be a living and breathing world, turns kinda hollow and hasty inside).

New Vegas, to be fair, has its own good share of problems, but despite that I find that it keeps the interest up infinitely better.

Skyrim is GREAT but so is New Vegas. But yeah I play both at the same time. I love the post apocalyptic world just a little more than the medieval.

So in last two years Fallout new vegas is one of the best rpg. one of my favorite after Dragon Age origins,I dont think so Skyrim would be better, FNV is a game with multi-threaded really. Sure Skyrim is better than Oblivion was but
Obsidian is a great firm for rpers. Bethesda does game for casual rather. its my opinion.
ui: But so Skyrim is game of year sure....

Why would I play Skyrim? Not trying to flame, but it's pretty much the most boring game in recent memory.

Bearing that in mind, I play New Vegas quite a lot.

Skyrim, while an amazing game, has horrid dialogue. The game world does not react to you in any way. That is the #1 reason I play New Vegas. I can mold the Mojave to any which way I want. People react to me somewhat. Plus, go play Old World Blues or Lonesome Road and then go play Skyrim. Yeah, it's hard.

I got bored with Skyrim due to its awful dialogue and repetitive quests, so I started a new playthrough in both NV and Fallout. I don't know when I'll be going back to Skyrim, but I just don't get bored with Fallout games (any of them really) like I do with any game in the TES series, especially Skyrim.

I almost bought Skyrim during the steam sale for 33% off, but I decided to purchase Plants v. Zombies, Orcs Must Die!, and a bunch of stuff off GoG instead.

Yeah, I went back to New Vegas. Skyrim is unplayable on the PS3. For all the flak New Vegas gets for being glitchy, it sure plays a whole heck of a lot better than Skyrim (at least on PS3).

I've pretty much done Skyrim until the real mods start to show up. I found a couple of interesting dungeons and some gear that has brought me back to new vegas for some fun. I'll be going back and forth between the fallout games and skyrim for some time.

For all of the many quests and other stuff Skyrim has brought to the series the game world seems very lifeless. Nothing I do seems to make any kind of impact on the population. At least in Oblivion the people recognized you for your accomplishments in the game.

in the fallout games I don't try to be anyone or do anything special but when I do in new vegas there is a group of people who notice, even if they are a bit annoying after a while. People commenting on my high skills in the tes games gets old. Adversaries with the same perks as me get old too. I have a bow specialist who has never touched a two handed weapon. When I play her all of the archers are doing incredible damage to me but the poor sap with the great axe is hard pressed to get past my light armor. Go figure. This was a pet peeve of mine in Oblivion too.

Yeah, I don't find Skyrim all that great outside of the world design, which save for the occasional floating tree is fairly good (though still not as good as Morrowind's). I've been having difficulty maintaining interest in Skyrim actually, I've only been playing it on and off.

I've been getting partly bored with Skyrim (never thought I'd say that) so NV has been keeping me preoccupied.

I haven't been able to get into Skyrim, which is odd considering I'm a big fan of the Elder Scrolls, it can have some unique quests and the dungeon running is great, but I think the problem is with my mindset. I still have my final run through of NV to complete, so maybe that's what's been bugging me.

Also Skyrim reacts to your actions, villagers will take good items off the ground if they find them, the world still moves inside of text boxes and the world can change depending on the quests and actions you take. Guards even comment on what armor you wear or if you shout. For your own sake's just because you like one RPG series doesn't mean you have to hate all others, aside from Final Fantasy, anything after 7 can go straight to hell. Besides, Beth is trying a new method of dailouge out with the game, there's going to be a few issues and besides, it's a Bethesda game, it will have issues.

To answer the question, yes I still play NV, it's the nagging little doubt that causes me to lose enjoyment in Skyrim.

I think that as long as modders continue to add interesting or challenging mods I'll keep playing it.

Gave up on Skyrim a couple weeks ago and made a new NV character. Up to level 46, did all the DLCs again, and just have the Battle of Hoover Dam left. Reminded me how awesome NV is and how boring Skyrim is in comparison. I couldn't even get through two characters in Skyrim. This is my eight in NV. Bethesda is horrible at making a world that reacts to you, writing dialog, and making interesting quests where your choices matter. It's really too bad that Beth and the guys from Obsidian have seemed to have a falling out. Well, I'm sure FO4 will be very shiny at least...

I tend to play New Vegas less often because of how little I can play before lag and freezing develops. I have started new characters, but it feels tiresome to play those.

Plus, I recently got Oblivion 5th Anniversary edition, so I'll be playing that up. Holla.

Well, the Obsidian director of NV was openly saying Beth's engine is the cause of all the issues that plague both NV and Skyrim. That generally doesn't bode well to work together in the future. Not to mention Todd Howard specifically stated that when Obsidian asked Beth if they could do a FO game he said it had to be out west so it wouldn't interfere with their version of the franchise, which makes it sound like FO4 will be fully internally Beth. Also, and I'm not sure where they got this info or if it is true, but the FO4 FAQ at the Vault states FO4 will be made by the same team that did FO3 and won't include any ex Black Isle/Obsidian team members.
