I was cleaning out my closets and discovered my two 35mm point-and-shoot cameras. I realized I haven't used either since a trip to Hawaii in 2002. Seems a shame - one of them my mom gave to me for my birthday about 2000 (just before the digital boom). Its an http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-Stylus-Epic-QD-CG/dp/B000021YU8 and took really good photos for an auto 35mm. I look at them and ones from my current digital and they still are better. Kind of gives me the itch to buy some film and shoot a couple rolls. It was sort of fun opening that package of processed pictures after developing (although digital sure is handy and cheap). Do any of you guys still use film cameras?
Oh yeah. I still have my Pentax, a 120 Holga, and a 4x5 Maxwell House pinhole from college. 99% of what I do is B&W in IR and selenium toned on archival paper. As cheap and convenient as digital photography is, it's yet to accomplish the same longevity of traditional processes.
I've got a 30 year old Pentax that hasn't seen the light of day in about 20 years. I've got it...somewhere.
K1000? If so you'll have a camera for life. Those things are nearly as tough as a Leica. Dig it out from "somewhere" and have some fun.
