Anyone taking off work for TESV?

Post » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:59 pm

I only scheduled vacation time for a video game once. It really didn't impress me enough to do it again. Being single I have plenty of time for my hobby of video games and so I won't be taking off that day or leaving early. I'll have waited that long, another 8 hours of work won't make that much difference. Plus, I've never known a game as complicated as Skyrim will be to release on time. It will be delayed, and I hope it is. I would much rather have a complete game that is bug free, as can be, than a rushed game that isn't complete and full of game breaking bugs.

Take the time, do it right. Don't rush for 11-11-11.

Isn't it a wee bit early to be thinking of this? At any rate, I most likely won't be taking time off from work as I have steadily accumulating law school loans that will eventually need to be paid off. Next (school) year is my last year, so it will likely get even more intense (and I'll be looking for an internship at a firm or something this year). At any rate, November is almost finals time, and there's a week in between there where I can probably cram in some playing time.

I am taking off life for Skyrim haha. My girlfriend will be missing me, my flag football team will be missing a QB and my basketball squad missing a PG. Work will love me at 830 am too after gaming until 3 am every day...

Having a kid at the end of April, my wife understands my obsession and allowed me to take Pat. leave around 11.11.11 through April of 2012.

Dunno how little free time that will leave me, but it will be invested in skyrim. The kiddo may be lullabied by Jeremy Soule methinks :)

Nov. 11 is my husband's birthday. I imagine we'll celebrate it in Skyrim. ;-)

Mostly I'm happy about the Friday release. Even if we don't take time off, we' won't have to wait days for a block of playtime.

The flute lessons I teach are only 45 minutes. I think a short break a few times a day will be healthy. So, no.

No, I'm not. But that would be because from July 2011 onwards, I'll be drafted into FDF. <_<

I will put in for a week of vacation when I am absolutely positive of the release date. Right now, its too early to make any real plans but I will take some time off to play Skyrim when I get it. It will also be the first game I have ever pre-ordered. I hope its worth it.

Can never really trust release dates even if they are as significant as 11.11.11. I think I will wait until at least November before considering taking some holiday.

Dude, 45 days to play TES V? That's more than enough days to play it through 7 times...

No video game could be worth taking off work to play. None.

Skyrim > School

That's my policy. I only have one class on Friday's, International politics, which I can catch up on by going on the internet, so it's not a big deal.

In an ideal world, I'll have no Uni classes on that day.

In the real world, I'll probably end up skipping classes. I'm fairly easy to corrupt...

I will most likely take 1 or 2 days off but will wait until I have the game in my hands first. And if it does get released just before thanksgiving, I will most likely take an extended T-day vacation as well. :)
