Anyone wish it WASN'T Skyrim?

If anything, Black Marsh would be the only Province to not be featured in a game. It's so dangerous no Mer or Men have lived their in centuries. The last Men to live there were the Kothringi Tribesmen and they were driven out by a horrible flu. So, in summation, the only realistic way to feature Black Marsh would be a Traveler in a boat passing by the shore, or an Argonian which would be the only race able to survive.

I disagree, there is no point in avoiding such an exotic and interesting place just for the sake of "biological correctness". Maybe at some point the air became breathable, maybe other races found a remedy or their organisms simply became immune to poison in time from the exposure. Maybe fighting the hostile environment will be a distinct part in the story, who knows? I wouldn't give away so easily a gem like Black Marsh, which cries mistery and adventure, based on the little things that we already know from the books.

I'm curious about Valenwood. I would hope to see huge trees and cities like those in Lord of the Rings, for from famous places in our own world like the Redwood Forest or Louisiana's vine-dangling trees. Love to see houses built high up in the trees with rope bridges. I always loved how WoW's elves started off in that magically-enchanted forest .... want to see some strange forests, some dark and foreboding, some open and rolling, some dense and mysterious, with fairies flying about at night time, lighting up the forest like shimmering stars.

Elsweyr got my vote, largely due to its exotic desert-based setting (sand, Sphinxes, and fuzzy beasties), but I'm certainly plenty stoked to get to go to Skyrim in this next installment.

The major downside to this is that such a game would require simply an INSANE number of man-years to complete, and would significantly delay its release for a sizable quantity of time. No developer wants to lose that amount of productivity (and revenue) in an industry so dependent upon regular, clockwork-timed releases for profitability puposes.

You could easily do a game like Arena, where one inch on the gameworld map equals dozens of miles, but to cover that same amount of territory in painstaking, down-to-the-very-last-blade-of-grass subtle detail would absolutely kill the developers.

I agree, all of Nirn would just be crazy. When I read the provinces that the OP mentioned, after he had suggested "all of Nirn" I think he was actually referring to all of Tamriel, which would still be fairly huge, but not impossible.

Good arguments, there. You are a bringer of hope, I see. Thanks for that!

Really, I'm not fond of the mountainous region of Skyrim, but I would love to see any one of the regions they haven't made yet. I voted for Valenwood, but I would be equally happy with Elswehr or the Summerset Isle... However, I'm still incredibly thrilled with Skyrim--it's still Elder Scrolls, so it will be incredible! :D

I'm absolutely thrilled with Skyrim, each province has its own charm and possibilities and culture. I'd never like a Tes less because it was set in a certain province, although given my affinity to the beast races, I'd die to see Elsweyr and Argonia. Bring them all I say, one at a time! I hope I live that long to play all of them.

Personally I'm one of the few that wanted Skyrim. Few RPG games have done a quality snow environment, and if any game can do justice to said climate I believe it would be BGS and the ES series

I'm happy with the mountains of Skyrim, but the Black Marsh or Valenwood would be awesome in modern graphics.

That would be like saying that the next ES will be set in a land completely submerged by lava, but the people of Nirn have figured out a way to become immune to heat and can breathe pure fire. I understand wishful thinking, but if you're going to stick with lore, it wouldn't be viable.

I had always been fairly confident it would be Skyrim, which was what I wanted.

And if we didn't get Skyrim, which is what I wanted, I would have seconded for Black Marsh

We knew ever since Beth trademarked word "Skyrim". They won't announce a new TES game before trademarking the name for that game-

I voted blackmarsh
I think the argonian land could have a very unique and wacky feel to it. I want an Elder Scrolls that makes me feel like I'm going back to the shivering isles

I actually wanted all of Tamriel(currently not possible) but I voted for Valenwood for 2 reasons.

1. It would look epic for a Title-The Elder Scrolls: V-alenwood(see what I did there?)

2. There is a city in Valenwood I have read about. Falinesti which is an enormous walking tree which crosses the country from north to south and back.

I'm not unhappy nor am I happy about their choice of location. As long as I don't see snow 75% of the time I think it will be one of the best additions to the series.

Valenwood because there is some potential for Morrowind type weirdness there. Skyrim is actually my second hope however.
