I'm not hoping for anything like that but TES VI : Elsweyr or High Rock would be awesome.

I actually wanted it to be in Skyrim ever since morrowind. My friend and I were actually hoping that TES IV was going to be that, but it turned out to be Cyrodiil. I am so freaking excited that it is in Skyrim. Its like bethesda had some chip hooked up in my brain.. 0.o

BUT if it were anywhere else I wanted it to be in Valenwood. I have always loved the dense forest scenes in medieval and fantasy movies, so I was hoping it was going to take place in either Skyrim or Valenwood because of the forest scene.

If anything, Black Marsh would be the only Province to not be featured in a game. It's so dangerous no Mer or Men have lived their in centuries. The last Men to live there were the Kothringi Tribesmen and they were driven out by a horrible flu. So, in summation, the only realistic way to feature Black Marsh would be a Traveler in a boat passing by the shore, or an Argonian which would be the only race able to survive.

I wanted to go to Valenwood, but that may be extreme since the canopy is so high.

I'm sure it will look great, and much better than the "all snow" people were worried about. But, it's still a temperate zone, with maybe a bit of tundra thrown in. We've seen most of that in Oblivion, and some of those environments in Morrowind.

That said, we have not seen a desert since Daggerfall (if you don't count Redguard) and we have not ever seen a proper jungle.

im voting for high rock, i know it already had been in daggerfall, but.. i don't know, summerset isle and esweyr doesn't seen that spetacular to me, and black march looks to... maybe.. boring? i dont know... high rock would be amazing, we could have a good diference of regions there, desert, snow, tundras, pretty much everything skyrim( in regions ) and some more, BUUTT, no dwemer ruins =[, i woudn't pick morrowind, because if i did, like everyone in the world, i would be picking vvanderfall instead, since morrowind mainland is nothing compared to it, ANNDD, yea hammerfell have DWEMER RUINS,,, im picking this one !

I've noticed all TES games have been the northern half of Tamriel, except for Arena which was all of Tamriel. I really would like a game somewhere in the more foreign south,Valenwood, Elsweyr, or the Black Marsh. These would be the most exotic places and the best in my opinion. I do think it was a good idea that they did Skyrim now, because the technology isn't good enough to really do any of these places well. It's the same with Summerset Isle.

i would have been cool with black marsh, but skyrim is the shiz! i wouldnt have it any other way.

but at the same time black marsh should be a game that is on the next hardware architecture, i don't think that current graphics would do it justice.

im thinking about water [not just surface tesselation but volumetric flowing water],
mud [something that has never been done right.],
trees [crysis is the best example],
animal AI [we will see how good skyrim has it. i have high hopes],
weather effects [wind, rain, snow],
physics [ we are getting close!].

all of these things need to be refined a bit better before we visit the area that has the most primal/wild forces of nature.
and for those of you who say graphics before gameplay I TOTALLY HEAR YOU. but in the future that will not be a good excuse nor should it be.

and call me crazy, but does anyone else think that the next game could be multi-province? or perhaps the entire continent again?
key word COULD!

I believe any of the provinces would be accepted with open arms because I'm pretty sure we all just wanted a new Elder Scrolls game to take our mind off of the incessant amount of shooters. Games from the first person perspective don't need to even mention the existence of firearms to be fun and I'm glad Bethesda knows this.

It coulda been Cyrodiil again and I would've just been happy to have another Elder Scrolls game!! (I would have been disapointed by the repetitivity, but happy none the less) Skyrim was actually one of my top choices for the next game, so I'm happy with it really. If I had to pick a different province, I'd probably say Summerset Isle.

If I had my way, I'd want the game to be set in Elseweyr or Black Marsh, but Bethesda decided to go with Skyrim, and that's fine too, I'd say all the provinces in Tamriel could make for a good game, it's just that some, I feel, have the potential to be more interesting than others, but it's far too late to change the decision Bethesda made now, so instead I want Bethesda to focus on making sure that Skyrim is an interesting place to explore, they can worry about other provinces when it's time to decide where the next game will be set, and the fact that we're not getting Elsweyr or Black Marsh yet means that if and when they are done, the technology available to Bethesda will have advanced further, potentially allowing the developers to better do them justice.

Couldn't agree more. At the end of the OXM UK podcast with Pete he said "when it's all said and done we'll do Skyrim justice." That gave me chills.

Pretty happy with Skyrim. With the setting and atmosphere they seem to be setting up its giving me a bit of a "conan" kinda vibe, grittier, maybe little darker, more mature themed. Very happy with what they have chosen and shown so far. My only issue is I am by nature a very impatient person. Want mah Skyrim Nowz please!! :tes:

they can worry about other provinces when it's time to decide where the next game will be set, and the fact that we're not getting Elsweyr or Black Marsh yet means that if and when they are done, the technology available to Bethesda will have advanced further, potentially allowing the developers to better do them justice.

Considering the next installment would probably be on the next generation of consoles, that should be very exciting.

I'm very happy that it's set in Skyrim, but if it wasn't I'd have preferred it to be TES V: Akavir.

What was so facepalmworthy about my statement? Norse/viking style isn't far removed from generic European fantasy style.

I'd like another elven province. I'd love to see Summerset, which has got to be my most anticipated province. However, I chose Valenwood because I'd like to save Summerset for last. As the most beautiful province, I'd like to wait as long as possible for it so that it can be released on the best future hardware convenient for Bethesda. The beauty of it would be much more appreciated when it is able to be expressed in full, unhindered by technology glory.

I voted for Summerset Isle, although I am fine with them choosing Skyrim for TES: V. This is mostly because, well, it's still TES:V :P.

I live in MN so really all the snow and crappy weather, well.... I've seen enough of it.

A wise, former Jedi Master once told me this:

"It's not the destination that matters. It's the journey."

As long as I have the privilege to play another TES epic in the making by BGS, I'm a happy camper. :tes:
