Anyone wish it WASN'T Skyrim?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:10 pm

Hi folks,

First let me clear up that I think it's cool that TES: V is going to take place in Skyrim, but don't some of you wonder what it would have been like if it were to take place in any other province? Or perhaps even all of Nirn? I mean, I can totally see it. Chilling in Skyrim one day, hunting in Valenwood the next, and on the boat to Summerset Isle the next week.

What do you guys think?

I had hoped it would be Elsweyr, but I'm happy enough with Skyrim.

Not with this current gen. I want skyrim and High rock as an expansion I'm not really intrested in tamriel that much, Tes 6 should come out at least 5 years after skyrim, and take place in Akavir.

Exactly what I had hoped for in TES:V prior to it being announced. I am very happy with the glimpses of Skyrim we have had so far though!

I'm dying to see Valenwood and Elsweyr (especially after playing the mod for Oblivion). I wasn't happy about Skyrim at first, but after seeing everything that I've seen about it, I'm good with it.

I wanted Black Marsh but I think this gen hardware can't make justice to such a luxuriant place. I'm pleased with how Skyrim looks and I'm sure there couldn't be real snow with physics and real time accumulation anytime soon.

I was actually hoping that it would be set in Skyrim, so I'm pretty happy, and I'm also not going to vote.

Well, if they could in Crysis and Bioshock, I don't see why not Black Marsh, as certain levels in them look similar to what would imagine Black Marsh to look like.

On the contrary, I had been hoping for Skyrim since Morrowind, so you could imagine how pleased I was when they finally announced it.

I'm really not one for snowy climates, so yeah I was a little disappointed, but still incredibly excited none the less

I was thinking Black Marsh or Elsweyr would be interesting, but I was hoping for Skyrim, so I'm pretty happy. But I would be happy with any province, as long as there's a new Elder Scrolls game. :)

I knew it was Skyrim after they purchased the trademark... so I didn't have the time to grow feelings for another province. I hope the next one is Black marsh, would be great from all perspectives: land, mistery, weird people with weird culture.

I'm sure Skyrim would be great, but like with High Rock and Cyrodiil, it falls too closely into the medieval European fantasy pool for my personal liking. I've had enough of that.

Lolz isn't this redundant now that we know it's Skyrim? people are voting where they want Tes 6, not where they wanted Tes 5.

Hey what's the point in having Cyrodiil as an option? Didn't you get enough with Oblivion? I mean, at least Morrowind had the mainland we never got to see, but Cyrodiil? Really, two games in a row? Someone actually voted for that.

Well, yeah, I'm not trying to wag my finger at them, I just found it surprising that somebody already misses Cyrodiil that much.

I'd have enjoyed Black MArsh a great deal, but as someone said, it's about a lot of water, different kind of water and vegetation and that was overkill for 6 year old consoles. Maybe next time :tops:

I get it! You didn't want it to be Skyrim, you wanted it to be elsewhere! Ahahaha!

...Anyway. Black Marsh would've been cool and all, but I really want to see all of Hammerfell. Stros M'Kai was really interesting in TESA: Redguard, and I love the Redguards.

I'm fine with Skyrim though, I can wait for the other provinces. I don't know how they're gonna do Black Marsh. It's just such a crazy place, I'm worried that even now we don't have the technology to really do it justice. It's hard to imagine, but I'm sure it'll be awesome whenever it happens.
