Anything major in 2011 so far?

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2011 7:31 am

Hey guys,

I've been away for awhile, and was just wondering if there were anything major that released in 2011 so far. Any updates to major mods like FCOM?

Thanks

FCOM is still rolling along as far as I can tell. Some awesome German devs released what's basically a new game, Nehrim earlier this year, with full English subtitles (but German voices). That's the biggest thing that comes to mind.

Off the top of my head, and I am going to miss a lot of things here obviously:

New in 2011 (i.e., not updates to mods):
New overhauls: Oblivion Warcry - New dimension (German, translated into English)
Other awesome new mods released in 2011: Sounds of Cyrodiil, Sneak Detection Recalibrated, Duke Patrick's SCA Combat, Dynamic Leveled LIsts (this one is supposed to make FCOM work with WAC and more - imagine that!)
Large quest mods: Well of Minlorada (corrected spelling, thanks arafel), Sundered Keep
New landmasses: Dibella's Watch

Updates: Too many to count!
OBGE v3 was released. Liquid Water brought the awesomeness of photo-realistic water into Oblivion's engine using OBGE magic.

Dynamic Leveled LIsts (this one is supposed to make FCOM work with WAC and more - imagine that!)

FYI, I asked about that on the DLL thread, and the DLL author said that while it can help, there are other issues with this combination that are not easily solvable.

Another major overhaul that has been released: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1120709-relz-rom-revised-oblivion-mod/

An overhaul that is based on OOO (and requires it) but does a lot, magic, combat, fatigue, stats, leveling, focuses on immersion and realism and much more (the magic overhaul alone could be it's own mod).

I finally released http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36493. Although I'm not sure some would considered it major, it was major to me. :celebration:

Also, I released http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39196. Again, not what I'd consider major.

Just thought I'd mention those in for a shameful ad plug

Was Stealth Wars released this year? Wow, I thought it was late 2010. Frankly, all I listed there was what happened in these last 2 months

Uploaded that on Jan 7, much to my relief since I had been sitting on it for awhile.

Not generic:
Integration: The Stranded Light should be getting a "no requirements" version shortly.

Andoran looks nice, but it's also not out yet.

Tes nexus' advanced search allows you to select specific date time lines, also you could always browse the categories and sort them by upload date descending... not to mention the files of the month. Links to all of these thing can be found below.

Here's my generic written thing for these topics. if you want something specific give more details. I ask some questions in the below text as a small guide line. You can answer them if you wish:

If you want any further help I suggest you tell us about yourself; what you like and what you're looking for... Here's some questions to get you started:

Have you played Oblivion already?
What sort of things interest you?
What type of Character do you usually play? (good/evil, theif/mage, roleplayer/random-no-story-hack-and-slasher?)
Are there specific types of mods you think would interest you? (Quests, graphic mods, gameplay mods, overhauls, etc.)
When did you leave?
What did you not like about Oblivion? What did Oblivion not have or need more of?
Male or female character?

Heh, I was going to ask why WEPON wasn't listed, until I realized we published it November 2010. It's amazing how time flies!

That is possibly because the name given is not quite correct: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1199103-relz-the-well-of-minlorada/

Wow, this I am really looking forward too! Since I use ROM, it is at the moment, highly incompatible with it's requirements. :celebration:

You released it?! I had been following that mod really closely but then i just stopped being as active on the forum. I must have lost track of it. I can't wait to get on my computer to download it!

Yep, its still in beta, but this is one of those mods that I probably wouldn't ever considered a finished project. When time permits, I'll be possibly re-working how the assassins utilize the stealth skills. I'm going to look at Sneak Detection Recalibrated, which btw was also a release for 2011 and looks very promising, and making it compatible with SW.
