Anyway to alter files to turn MOTION BLUR off?

Post » Mon Jan 26, 2009 11:47 am

The motion blur in this game is way over the top. I'll lower the resolution to compensate but seriously.

Does anyone know of any way to alter the files to turn it off or at least make it tolerable? If so please let me know and be relatively specific please.

I'm not a computer genius so I may not comprehend or know how to do everything and that'll help others who may have the same problem. Thanks in advance!

While your at it, a way to turn down the BLINDING amount of bloom would be much appreciated.

You can. Do this:

Program files(x86)/Electronic Arts/Crysis2/bin32/Crysis2.exe

Change that Crysis2.exe (which may just be called Crysis2) to rift.exe and then use that to launch the game. Fixes the bloom issue.

Does that turn off/down bloom, or does it just fix the flickering issue some people have? I don't have the flickering, I just want to to turn down the bloom so its easier to see in multiplayer.

Very constructive post.... we are asking simple questions, go troll an actual whine thread.

Also, in BC2 you can turn off the bloom by editing a .ini file. AFAIK, you can't do that with Crysis 2, but I hope I'm mistaken.

Could you be more specific? Where is the launch options or game parameters? Where in that document (I'm assuming it's a text doc) would I put these. I found a text doc just titled game and it has a bunch of info but I don't think that's it.

r_motionblur was disabled in the full game for some reason. Making me ill too, I hate it, it's like ghosting-tracers over everything whenever I even sligihtly move my view.. we're in a billion dollar nan-suit yet we apparently use 24FPS anolog video cameras for eyes.

I wonder if that graphic config we used for the demo someone released in steam forums may work?

No, it used the same command for blur that has been disabled. The FOV options still work though.

Where do we put that paste at? Please as specific as you can. Also, something such as:

sys_spec_postprocessing = 3 []

Does the number go in the [] or you choose 1, 2, or 3 and put it where the 3 is in the example and leave the [] where they are? I just want to clarify.

Go to your crysis to folder, find the "Crysis2.exe" (or soemthing reallly similar)
then make a shortcut and keep it on ur desktop

after than right click the shortcut, and after the address of the game ( "c:/program files...." or w/e) and after the full address ( or whatever u call it lol) put a space and type r_motionblur 0

I'm not sure, but i think its what he's trying to say
u can do the same for bloom btw, i think it might be r_glow 0 or something like that

Make an autoexec.cfg file in the same location as your system.cfg file and add it there. It works then.

This is my autoexec.cfg file:
con_restricted = 0
log_IncludeTime = 1
log_verbosity = 3

g_skipIntro = 1
r_MotionBlur = 0
r_HDRBrightLevel = 0

<08:13:00> [CONSOLE] Executing console command 'exec autoexec.cfg'
<08:13:00> Executing console batch file (try game,config,root): "autoexec.cfg" found in ./ ...
<08:13:00> con_restricted = 0 [RESTRICTEDMODE]
<08:13:00> log_IncludeTime = 1 []
<08:13:00> log_Verbosity = 3 [DUMPTODISK]
<08:13:00> g_skipIntro = 1 []
<08:13:00> r_MotionBlur = 0 []
