Apocalyptic Louisiana

Post » Thu May 13, 2010 4:28 pm

I've always wondered what my home state would be like in the world of fallout. I don't expect it to be in a game any time soon so I'm wondering what you guys think Louisiana in fallout would be like.

I would guess a huge Point Lookout with all of the rivers running through it carrying the radiation. That would cause alot of ghouls probably even more than usual areas.

So what do you guys think?

And mutated alligators... and a metric ton of mutated insects. Mutated snapping turtles. A unique sawed off shotgun with a reference tie in to the movie Gator.

Have you ever heard of Pierre Part? That's where I live.

And, it would look about like it does now.

Point Lookout is pretty much what my state looks like with less mutants.

:)

So maybe similar.

I completely agree it would be amazing. With the sometimes already monstrous creatures here walking around it would be awesome to explore.

If they'd have mutated alligators then there would have to be an option to craft alligator boots with matching jacket lol

Can't say that I've heard of it and my town's the same way I think that's just the style down here lol

So he snuck in the swamp gonna get the boy... But he never came out again heh.
Well I wonder where that Louisiana sheriff went to,
Well you can sure get lost in the Louisiana bayou

Loads of creepy shacks populated by hillbillies and Voodoo practicing witch-doctors.

After the bombs fell?

The education system might be better. Don't worry, i'm from Florida, so this doesn't come from a high and mighty ground.

I think if they didn't do point lookout, it would have made a great DLC, or even a stand alone game. It has the city aspect, and it has the country/swamp part to it. I would love to see what happened.

I thought about making it myself. :)

It could be really good if they made a full DLC of it.

**What are the odds? (with the name clash and the same state.)

Wow that's really ironic. And judging by your avatar we're both BoS lovers to :fallout:

As for a DLC in Louisiana I think it would be amazing. It definitely has the necessary setting for it and a completely blank canvas for all new factions and other things. I honestly think that it could be a full game on its own but I don't see it happening for a while so a DLC would be good to.

Wow! That would be a great setting, you know what, the Midwest would be a interesting setting because most of the U.S water supply comes from there, and now the Followers of Apocalypse will be there and the Great Khans too!

They should put it in a future fallout game. :)

Getting your home state and home town in a fallout game is over-rated...

(I live in las vegas by the way and they made new vegas)

That video again... Didn't you use that video as a joke when people were discussing fallout 3 being FPS style before the game was released? (the good ol days)

Actually, I made it as a proof of concept of what Fallout would have to have been to get Fallout 3 as a sequel.
(And also to point out to some who were posting that FPP wasn't possible in the 90's  ~the game I used shipped from Interplay the same year they shipped Fallout.)

It is a neat coincidence.

Louisianna would probably look great in the a Fallout game -- thing is, the most recognizable city most folks know about is New Orleans, and without maintenance for 200 years, and mammoth, irradiated weather patterns roaming the south, I simply don't see New Orleans -not- being completely submerged.

Also, there already are Mutant Crocodiles in the Fallout World. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_crocodile

Personally, I feel Florida is a far more viable location, as it won't necessaril flood because of a hurricane, is home to the Everglades and Miami in close proximity (recognizable urban and "wasteland" areas close enough to be in the same map without DLC). Furthermore, it has ample DLC fodder, in the form of Disney World, the old Spanish fort at St. Augustine, and perhaps Key West.

Sadly my city would likely be similar to The Pitt only with ships.
