Apparently a chickens life is worth more than a persons.

So I assaulted a chicken in the rift and now every guard arround wants to brutally kill me. Is the chickens life worth more than mine as a person? The fact yielding does NOTHING and I was never confronted with any options to begin with is just horrible.
There's no way to stop guards from kiling me in the rift it seems. Does anyone know the console command to remove bounty from the rift?

I had this same problem the first day I got the game. I figured the chicken wouldn't matter much, so I killed it out of amusemant. Next thing I knew all of the guards were after me and I couldn't yield or tell them I'd like to pay off my 5g fine. At the time, the killing of the chicken was the only crime I had ever committed.

Yeah same thing happened to me, and the strange thing is I didn't even kill it I merely sent it flying, I accidently hit the 'Shout' button on my PS3 and all of a sudden every guard was attacking me and I didn't even have my sword out! No criminal history infact I haven't even stolen anything, yet they wouldn't let me yield or pay a fine... lucky I save often and in different slots! Guess in Skyrim they consider Chickens 'Godly'! Wonder where the Chicken Shrine is?

Kill a man, and the town can eat more.
Kill a chicken, and the town will eat less.

Sounds logical to me.

Assault is assault. In what universe do you imagine someone not caring if you walked up and attacked their pet or farm animal? Violence is often used to resolve disputes in Skyrim, so it's no surprise that you would be attacked for such a vile act. If the guards don't recognize your attempt to yield, leave the city and come back. You'll likely be given the opportunity to pay your fine and be done with it.

Skyrim is a game with consequences. Attack things "out of amusemant" and you'll likely provoke a response in kind.

Please don't try to explain game bugs like that, I've used my shout in town which clipped a chicken and had the Guards after me. Actually now that I can recall it was my first character and I had to restart my game because nothing I could do would get the guards to stop attacking me (reloaded the save, left the town for days, yielding did nothing). It's just broken.

If you used your shout in town, you more than likely dented someone other than the chicken--like a town guard or three or some townsfolk. They tend to frown on that. I dropped the controller and made a mid-air grab at it, setting off my shout. There were a few guards nearby, though none of them seemed hurt and I didn't even stagger any of them, but it was instant dramatic music and a bunch of guard swords being drawn.

Any true Nord can defend themselves in combat. If you attack a Nord and you kill then, then you are simply the better Nord. The murder is a crime, but not such a terrible one. After all, the victim deserves plenty of blame for being weak.

Murdering a chicken? Well, a chicken cannot fight back. Therefor, the crime is a serious one, as neither you, nor the fowl in question, were behaving as true Nords. Thus, murdering a chicken is a greater crime than murdering a fellow Nord.

Of course, any true Nordic Chicken would have pecked you to death anyways. The scale between you and a chicken is approximate to the scale between you and a dragon, so technically you are the chicken's dragon.

Kill a chicken, and the town will eat less than they would have if they had eaten the man, instead.

Sounds logical to me.

Fixed.

No, there is no unknown factor here, try it yourself and you?ll see that every guard in the town will try to kill you. :pinch:
They won't even try to arrest you for the horrible chicken murder, they want revenge! :flame:

I was walking around Riverwood, and Fus Ro Dah'd a chicken, my companion tried to kill me, along with the entire town. It was hilarious. Chicken wasn't even harmed. Just rolled over. I Fus Ro Dah'd a citizen off an edge in Markath, killing him, all I got was 40 gold bounty for assault. The title of this thread is perfect.

It's pretty weird, like, you pickpocket someone, even if you're just trying to steal a tomato from them, they turn around and try to stab you in the face. And the guards go nuts too.

Livestock are of course more valuable. The people depend on them for food, etc. However it does seem like you have a bug. Reload an earlier save perhaps?
