Apparently patch 1.03 improved console graphics

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 9:30 pm

I have yet to play the game since the newest patch installed, and already Bethesda has stated that the patch made graphical improvements for XB1 and PS4. I saw an announcement for it in this Facebook video post: https://www.facebook.com/BethesdaGameStudios/videos/1008577019186283/?fref=nf

Has anyone here who plays on the consoles noticed differences? I know it's not a huge change, but, still, I am curious.

I didn't notice but.... I'm already happy with how it looks on XOne. I've seen the before/after clip and there is a subtle difference now for sure.

There was a subtle upgrade. It's mostly noticeable to me when looking across greater distances, say the city skyline etc, but things nearer to you also seem slightly better defined. I think they tweaked the contrast a bit.

The only things i know that was improved was draw distance was farther. Meaning some things do not pop in like they do on 1.2 there was a video showing this on https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/697087304331083776

Yeah, that's what I heard. I'm interested in seeing it in action when I finally get to play this weekend. Even just little changes can make a big difference.

I have noticed the difference in draw distance. When I am running around, I don't notice items being "drawn in" quite as much as I did before.

The view from the top of my newly constructed tower at RR is awesome. Can actually see the Provisioner and Brahmin walking around on the Sanctuary Hills side of the Bridge.

My save was fairly high up looking out into the distance. I noticed the improvement right sway. Of course after 20-30 minutes it becomes 'normal'.

Your comment has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, which is the subtle improvement of graphics for console players. I know you are very upset about those bugs, but this isn't the relevant thread to bring it up in. The bugs and glitches forum is where those conversations should go.

Sorry, I just don't have time for unrelated negativity in my thread. And I'm not experiencing the issues so many people are, and I play on PS4.

Sorry you got jumped like that. Some people will find any thread just to complain, even though they submit a bug report elsewhere.

On topic - I am playing on PC, but a few friends of mine play on xbox One and PS4 and says it has been improved, which is nice. Good that patches can make some small changes like this aswell.

That's not how it works at all and hardly Bethesda's fault, the console could not support it. Just like only some graphics card supported the destructible environments in the PC.

Anyway, I actually noticed a difference, I can see farther, it's rather noticeable. Have not played as much to check the other thing out though.

I think the world looks clearer and sharper in general, as far as the draw distance I don,t really notice that aspect so I really can't say.

Draw distance seems to be the only noticeable change. Besides that, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in detail unless there was a side by side comparison. Frame rates seem pretty choppy still.......big upset.
