I don't know how that works in China, but in the U.S. a 17-year-old is going to have a hard time getting a loan without parental help. Perhaps through some kind of "loan shark," but I'm not sure that would be any safer than giving a kidney...

I know Apple likes to charge an arm and a leg for their newest gadgets, but this is too much... :(

I think I'd rather just pay overprice :teehee:

What would Todd Howards to with my kidney anyways? Eat it?

Some people seem to like steak and kidney pie, though I suspect he might do a sort of Damian Hurst-esque sculpture with it.

I mean what kind of a hospital would do this? Contracting their surgery rooms to three guys from another province, no questions asked?

A poor one in a second world country.

(Not to say there aren't crazy-sounding Apple forum posters. But, then, there's just as many crazy-sounding pro-Wintel forum posters. And, of course, pro-Wintel "journalists" who need to keep writing blogs on their Wintel-oriented websites, trying to make out Apple fans to be crazy. :whistling: )

Don't forget the OS2 fans. I hear they both are very... enthusiastic.

He got ripped off, can't you get like 3 times that much for your kidney?

I mean, I'd sell my kidney if I was ever in desperate need of money though I feel as if they would just kill me and harvest all of my organs instead.

What's "Wintel"? Is that like Windows + Intel?

As far as I know, Macs don't run on PowerPC anymore....

Yes. It was a fairly commonplace description of what made the PC ubiquitous, though I haven't seen it used quite as much recently.

We find the story funny because it's a valid way to cope with how insanely stupid the human race is becoming.

Yes......becoming.

*sigh* You know... I know I should feel bad for the guy but... really, what the hell? I just don't care anymore. If your going to be stupid and do something like remove a organ to get a little toy (made by Apple to, come on man!) then I have only this to say....

HAHAHA! YOU DESERVE WHATEVER PAIN YOU GET! Next time don't be a idiot.

I should really stop going on forums when im in a bitter mood.

but clearly he was buying it for the G-Bies. :P

did he atleast get a usb port. but seriously, he got a bad deal. an ipad will become obsolete in a year when they unlease the slightly better and more expensive version. his kidney surely would have lasted longer than that.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/228387/three_dead_after_foxconn_factory_blast_apple_investigating.html

A third employee had died from injuries caused by an explosion at a factory of Foxconn in Chengdu, China, the company said Sunday.

Apple said it was working with Foxconn to understand what caused the incident. The Friday explosion injured 15 other employees, six of whom have been treated and released from the hospital, according to Foxconn.

I wonder what will go on in his mind when the iPad 3 is released?

More like

I doubt this would have been done in a hospital, probably in a back room of some old store with an ice box, with a pop of opium, plastic bags, and a hand me down scalpel.

Laughing or crying arent my first responses. Just....disgust. People these days are so obsessed over todays technology and they will literally do anything to obtain it. I mean seriously, people say they'd kill for the latest iPod, I still use a CD Player, and I'm okay with this. People need to quit trying to flock with the sheep mindset of todays consumer market.
