What with April 1st being only a few weeks away, I got to thinking: Have gamesas in the past ever done a fake announcement for April Fools? I know last year (or the year before) there was that article announcing TESV that a lot of people got caught out on... So this year... I dunno. Maybe an announcement revealing that guns are in for Skyrim, or that Dragon Fights are all going to be QTE or something...

Anyway, question is two parts :

1 Whats your favourite VG-ralated April Fools joke?

2 What, if anything, would Beth do this year? (Skyrim related, of course)

Also, I think by far the greatest April Fools' joke ever executed on these forums was the year when we all took Rohugh's avatar (or silly variants of it) and pretended to be him. I believe there were upwards of ten threads in the Community Discussion forum of people throwing off Yogi Bear one-liners and threatening to lock the thread using their mod powers. I still have a few of the avatars saved on my hard drive, in fact. :hehe:

It would have to be really over-the-top if they did anything in relation to Skyrim at all. I would not put it past half of the people here to get all upset and take anything on April Fools day as serious unless it was the most obvious joke in the entire world. And even then...

That was such a troll April fools joke. They said Bethesda handed over the Elder Scrolls rights to Armour Games Studios which in turn, said they would make the game fast paced and simple like all their other games. I nearly fainted out of the window when I saw that article!

Meh, i don't think April 1 jokes are any fun unless you got not clue what day it is - else it's like a spoiler of sorts. BEST HIDE ALL YOUR CALENDARS!

April Fool's Day on the forums was fun the last two years. Last year random members (who just joined) were given moderator status if I remember correctly, and the year before everyone borrowed Rohugh's avatar... And they all used the same image hosted somewhere, which was replaced with an image of Boxxy the day after. Those sticked around for months!

Planet Elder Scrolls had a couple of good ones. I think Stomper did those.

My favorite April Fools joke for a VG was Diablo 3 last year and the year before when they released the "new classes" like the bard and the archivist. It was hilarious that they even had the short clips of moves they did. Made me laugh so hard.
