I hate spiders too and looking at that spider screenshot makes me have
goose bumps all over so I hope they will scare/disgust me even more in-game later. :thumbsup:

The only other game I recall being a giant spider in is Okami...but then again, that spider looked like a joke.
I'm not afraid of spiders, but looking at the screenshot, this might be a bit terrifying. :blink:

I'm quite sure modders will handle removing spiders for those who dislike them.

Besides, there are hundrerds of other phobias too, not just arachnophobia. I highly doubt Bethesda's gonna make a game that takes them all (or just most common ones) into account.

I seriously wouldn't pass on a game like Skyrim just 'cause there are some dungeons with spiders. Personally I do have one rather severe phobia, and it makes some scenes in some games very uncomfortable for me, but it doesn't stop me from playing.

The Spiders are still fake 3D or regular D.

To the point of freezing?(Phobia), I am also feel uncomfortable at the edge of a high place (So many scenarios in which I might fall).

You'll just have to wait and hope for a patch more than likely. BGS won't be taking them out of the game. You aren't the only person to state this concern, so I'm sure someone will make an arachnophobia-friendly Skyrim.

Speaking of which, I have this crippling fear of being on the edge of high places as well, which renders me into a timid kakapo with gummis for feet pretty much. But for some reason I'm not afraid of flying on an airplane at all. So I'd hope they get mountain cliffs out; and dragon riding in.



lol. To be honest, in video games I find jumping around on high places very veeery fun, though I still get the a bit of the fright all the time

LOl... spiders aren't going to be removed, hate to break it to ya.
But i don't think bethesda is going to remove spiders just for you and ruin it for everyone. I myself love spiders, they may look a bit scary but if you are close to them, you'll get used to it.

Call me insensitive buut why do people expect other people to cater to their irrational fears? Especially in a video game. Its a video game, most people dont have trouble separating that from reality. I would never steal a car or murder a pedestrian, but i still could play GTA.

Da dieses "Problem" schon ?fter angesprochen wurde, bin ich sicher, dass es recht bald nach release einen Mod geben wird um Spinnen aus dem Spiel zu entfernen.
Wenn du die PC-Version kaufst sollte das also kein gro?es Hindernis sein.

That picture wasn't scary, but I googled Camel Spider, and I have to admit that just seeing those pictures gave me chills.
Would have nothing against killing them in a game though.

I was also a little scared by the spiders I encountered in Crysis Warhead(!) (they just served as small background critter), but that didn't stop me from picking them up and throwing them away.
Oh, and I hate sharks, but I've managed to play with them in Crysis as hell - even though I usually panics when I'm just close to the deep water in that game.

Snakes scare me as well, I hate the way they moves, but I've been to snake zoos and could go through them without problem.
Pictures with snakes scare and disgust me as hell, but I can easily force myself to watch them. I wouldn't have any problem encounterring them in-game (only met snakes in one game though, and that was Boiling Point).

People that fear spiders should meet their fear and KILL IT by killing the spiders!

There will be a 'no spider' mod, guaranteed. So if you really have arachnophobia, get the game for the PC.

Unless Bethesda can actually pull off the whole 'mods on console' thing of course.

Honestly I wish I was arachnophobic just to fight these spiders. Being so would increase the immersion so much, since I know if ever I met a giant spider in real life I would be terrified. It would also make my braver by overcoming my fear. Alas, I do not fear them.

many people are afraid of all kinds of diffrent things...like jews, germans, beautiful women xD
im personally terrified of dogs sheesh even when i see a little dog barking at me i freeze up but that wont keep me from playing and haing a good time .
