Translated (roughly) for the non german speakers: "I cannot play games with spiders in them due to having arachnophobia...Please bring out a patch that removes them from skyrim. If there won't be one, I won't be able to buy/play it"

There saying they have Arachnophobia and would like a patch or setting to remove it (if the machine got it right)
I don't care if it does, but it sure will help a lot of people who have that issue.
Also, it would be very easy to mod them out, the only thing would be some quests might get confusing or be uncompletable.

Bethesda sollt nicht spinnen l?schen nur weil du angst hat davor, viele mensche finden die Spinnen ein gute Zusatz. Ich habe auch angst vor Spinne, aber in eine Computer spiele habe ich keine angst davor.

Well my German svcks, but I hope you understand :P

My German isnt good enough to reply in it, but this is a topic that comes up on the forum from time to time.

I think you will have to rely on the modding community for this, as I dont think Bethesda will (or should)
take into account arachnophobia (or other phobias) when creating a game.
Elder Scrolls has a huge and active modding community though, and lots of people share your phobia. So Im sure there will be a mod for that quite soon after release.

You can try to use Skyrim to overcome your fears a little. Exposure does help, avoidance only makes things worse.

The Spiders aren't real they won't jump out of the screen at you and if we catered to everyone then all the enemies would be sheep because people are scared of certain enemy/Enemies that are important to the Gameplay.

@The Terror of Death
Some people have arachnophobia so severe that they can't even look at pictures of them. So a spider in a game that will attack the character would be like 100x worse than a picture.

I have heard from people that have it that going for hypnosis sessions has helped with their fear.

I will now guess what this says.

I will be getting the computer version, and there will be spiders in it. I have a fear of spiders, by the way. Arachnophobia :-( Please give Skyrim a patch release, that will remove this. At night, I [I have not even a hint what the rest says].

Now, off to see that translation to see how horribly wrong I was.

EDIT: Ah, reasonably close, though I foolishly misremembered nicht meaning night, when actually I think it is 'nacht'.

Everything right, except the last sentence.

Just download a mod, or use the construction kid to track and delete every single damn itchy .... spider in Skyrim..

And replace them by huge frostbitten wienerschnitzels..

Leave the spiders alone, they are cool and they have a nice role in the dungeon atmosphere: adrenaline bumps.

Direct Translation: "I can not play computer games with presence of spiders. I have a spider phobia and brings Arachnophobia :-( Please for Skyrim issued a patch to the bugs are removed. If not, I have to give up the game, unfortunately"

So you're not buying until they release a no spiders patch. Luckily, millions of us will buy it and enjoy it, or else Bethesda may be in financial trouble if they didn't cater to all the people with phobias.

I hate spiders, but love the Elder Scrolls. The love outweighs the hate so the spiders aren't going to win!!

Hey, dungeons should be scary! Unless it's so bad that you'll be instinctively running away from the screen, it should make for great intensive battles!

I wish I had arachnophobia. :(

I have an intense fear of snow. Seriously. It's just something I'll have to deal with when I play. You can't expect Bethesda to specifically cater to everyone like that. :shakehead:

Saying that, arachnophobia is a very common fear. If you play on PC, I'm certain there will be mods to remove all giant spiders. There are mods to do so in Dragon Age, and probably loads more for other fantasy games which have included our eight-legged friends.

I have arachnophobia, but Skyrim looks so awesome, I must try it. I endured Frodo's encounter with Shelob. So, I am eager to slaughter evil frost spiders.

Per Google Translate:
Ich habe Arachnophobie, aber Himmelsrand sieht so genial, ich muss es versuchen. Ich ertrug Frodos Begegnung mit Kankra. Also, ich bin begierig zu schlachten b?se Frost Spinnen.
